There was talk about larger investors shorting TSLA so that it wouldn't hit $600 in hopes that calls would expire today. I've been swinging it for the past week making consistent profit but today I went in pretty deep and didn't notice it slide, so that's where the question came in. With the news that there will be significant buyin due to the S&P inclusion this Dec, I was just curious if anything could really cause a major downturn to the stock price by then. Not a huge loss for me, I'm still holding, but was curious.

Yes, MM hedging their option writes to pin the stock's action on expiry Fridays is a thing.

TSLA S&P inclusion news has been out for like 2 weeks already. Any hype on that news has probably already been reflected.

TSLA trading on pure momentum right now along with all the other **** EV's, fuel cell companies and whatever else at the moment.

Doesn't have to be any events upcoming. Money can simply just rotate out of EV into the next trending thing. Markets could simply just pull back.

Stocks squeezing hard and then giving up those gains in a few sessions happens all the time.

If you're using these news as your buy thesis, I'd recommend checking to see what happens after TSLA did a week after splitting it's stock, or what happened on "battery day" lulz.

"Buy the rumors, sell the news" is corny but it's definitely a thing.

I agree the hype has been reflected, but based on that you're thinking the share price won't change much once fund managers actually start re balancing their portfolios to include TSLA? I actually bought in with the intention to hold until then, but maybe I'll cut my losses and just swing it for now. Realistically anything could happen the next 2-3 weeks until those larger buy-ins start to happen.. probably a bad idea for me to hold. It's been my first red day for a while, first that cockksucker at Citron tweets about PLTR tanking then it tanks, then MMs short TSLA prior to $600 and it loses a bit of value. Can't really predict that chit lol, oh well.

But don’t forget that once the SNP goes into effect, that will mean 40b worth of TSLA shares getting purchased.

Also battery day was a disappointment. Not from tsla but how the market didn’t understand how significant what they discussed was. I was impressed. Thoroughly

    Yahoo! added to S&P 500
    November 30, 1999: 7:28 p.m. ET

    https://realmoney.thestreet.com/arti...-addition-1999

On Nov. 30, 1999, It was announced that Yahoo! would be the second internet company, after America Online, to join the S&P 500. The stock soared 24% as it gained $63.18 to $348. During the week following the news, Yahoo! gained a total of 64%.

The great bull market of 1999-2000 still had several more months to run but this event was an illustration of the hysteria that had taken hold of the market as one of the biggest bubbles in market history took place.

i mean i don't know what the fuk TSLA is gonna do, I never understood it at sub $200 pre-split, I still don't understand it now, but people frothing at the mouth on TSLA S&P inclusion should reconsider.

If you went back in time 20 years, people would be saying the same stuff as you right now regarding YAHOO being the future. I mean it really was the TECH STOCK of the 2000's....

It's only in hindsight that you will realize yahoo management was a ****show.

If you bought Blackberry sub $20 back then, you'd probably feel like a genius as it ramped up.

It's only hindsight that you see how terrible that was.

It's only hindsight that you see how terrible that was.

    edit; once again.

*i mean i don't know what the fuk TSLA is gonna do, I never understood it at sub $200 pre-split, I still don't understand it now, but people frothing at the mouth on ANY S&P inclusion should reconsider, sometimes they provide exits for smart money*
    Lol. True.

Imagine if tsla went to $50.... People would look back at Elons old nutty tweets and just think "fuark, how did I not see this?!"

but until then, to the moon!

So who is ready for the negative news on Monday?!? AZN fk'd themselves hard to set themselves back literally MONTHS. Still nothing from Feds about either the Pizer or the Moderna vaccine. It will probably take at least a month to figure out the supply chain not to mention figure out the order in which who gets the vaccine and how they make sure they set enough aside so people can get their 2nd vaccine 3 weeks later. Still nothing on side effects released either which doesn't bode particularly well. Trump still acting like a fool and trying to say he won't be leaving the white house without a fight so potentially some concern there too. Probably just a bump in the road, but I think positive news is tapped out and now we no news or bad news for a week or 2. Congress not making any progress on further covid relief funds either.

Best possible news we get is not as many people did stupid chit as they thought as less people get COVID than expected. Still somewhat doom and gloomy in many parts of the country and its only November. December is the make or break part of the year IMO.

I was unaware for a while, but now there is no other company out there that excites me like Tesla does.

Tesla will be simultaneously disrupting many industries at once... car, taxi, battery, insurance, solar etc...their self driving AI is light years ahead of any other and most importantly of all, they build their own stuff. These other EV imposters dont even build their own cars LMFAO

Ehh there’s a big difference between crypto running up and amazon posting 30% YoY growth in every business... fundamentals do drive value in the stock market still. The dynamics are interesting, but ultimately there is a reason certain stocks are increasing in value

Yeah things not looking good these next few weeks.

I agree probably just a temporary bump but you'd think if we were going to have a pullback at some point, sometime in the next couple of weeks seems pretty likely.

    I wasn't thinking about amzn....

    Nio, fcel, pltr etc

Watching those^ in 2020 is eerily similar to the chitcoins of 2017 (which are now literally 100x lower than they were)

I agree with that, there's a bunch of stocks that are casino picks due to the hysteria (although I did cave and buy PLTR this week)

I went against my plans and sold pltr like a tard but I think I’ll sell 10x 12/18 CSP 29 strike for $6 each. Either I make 6k in premiums when Pltr goes above 29 or I get a $23 re-entry when I just sold at 27.76

Good month overall though +14-15kish on Pltr and I deposited 12k. Csp on baba, AMd, and gdrx all closed for profits. Only underwater on pton

Put my whole "fun money" account into Palantir and APXT. Might just delete the app and reinstall in a year and see where I'm at.

At least you made a good profit.
I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.

How many of you guys started from a small amount and grew to six figures? Just curious. Was it mostly share trading that got you there, or options?
