    Taste, convenience, protein quality etc.

Some of the chemicals may sound scary to you but there's no good evidence for adverse effects on human health.

If you prefer minimally processed foods that's fine of course.

Erythritiol, sucralose, palm oil and corn starch?

Fair enough, I'll stick to my food options

Yes those are the scary names I was referring to.

If you want to argue they do have adverse effects at these doses you're welcome to cite your evidence.

There’s actual evidence than erythritol has anti-oxidant properties... corn starch is just derived some whole corn..

You seem to have some pretty over the top food aversions.

I mean to each their own, but I hope you realize the amount of these ingredients in a single protein bar is tiny.

There’s more evidence to suggest the saturated fat in steak and full fat dairy is ‘bad’ than there is a small dose of Splenda in a protein bar

I can't share links but here's one about sucralose combined with carbohydrates PMID 32130881

Palm oil in my opinion has pretty poor fat profile

Have nothing to say about the 2 others but I'll skip them

The study found a short term negative effect only when sucralose was combined with 30 grams sucrose. Good thing Quest bars don't contain that. The sucralose on its own was no problem.

I also suspect the amount of sucralose in Quest bars is smaller than the amount the study used, but I don't have the exact number for Quest bars.

True, but the amount of palm oil in a Quest bar (less than 2%) is too tiny to have negative effects.

Not to mention, if the majority of fat intake (or intake of any nutrient) is whole food based/unrefined/etc... and you're active, lean... the rest of your lifestyle is going to mitigate almost any negative impact from that small dose.

I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be engulfed, every hill shall be exalted and every mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plains and the crooked places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.

One of the awful bits about Quest bars is how they make me bloat and gassy

its the vitafiber that causes the bloating / gas. I’ve made quest bars before and one of the main ingredients is vitafiber. Though fiber one bars screw me up way more lol
