This story literally vanished into thin air...I spent about 15 or 20 minutes visiting common news sites last night looking for information on this story and I couldnt find a hint of this scandal...I would bet the average person has no clue of what occurred if they dont watch Fox news.

You really have to give it to the Dems. They've literally silenced one of US history's largest political scandals right before election.

The major news outlets outside of The New York Post and Foxnews have refused to publish it.

But yet all of these media outlets had no problems publishing an absolutely ridiculous Steele Dossier and supposedly Trumps tax returns, or any story with unverified “anonymous sources”.

Actually for a small shop who may be hurting for business that doesn't seem far fetched. Let alone if there are no issues with the HD then is it straight forward. I used to do data recovery and forensics. Our standard rate was 2k and I remember seeing some prices over 100k (I even think it was NASA) depending on the complexity of the job. This goes from rebuilding raids array's, and rebuilding hard drives (replacing the read write heads, rewriting firmware, platter swaps ect...). Part of our job was also verifying the data that the customer requested. That means emails, pictures, videos, all documents. So reading that this shop owner saw some weird things after he did the work is not out of this world. Sadly that was years ago and solid state drives took over.



I am sad to say I came across child porn once. The customer wanted all picutes. So after I repaired to drive to the point it would ID on my imaging machine I created a copy. Then hooked it up to one of the PCs to look at everything. Simple way was to just open the drive and search for imgs, jpegs ect... I started seeing all kinds of temp files from the internet. I opened a few and saw a few videos. Without second guessing I called my buddy and without saying anything I asked him to tell me what he thought. Of course he thought exactly what I did. We called our boss and reported it. Turns out he was a teacher from L.A. Long story short clear you history.... lol

Depends on what kind of recovery. Maybe their was something wrong with the macbooks themselves and they would not boot, but nothing wrong with the hard drives and nothing was deleted, he just needed the hard drive pulled and data copied. That would be the easiest $85 ever.

Of course, if YOU knew anything about tech, YOU would know this. On top of that, most small computer repair shops undercharge for their time.

Yep some people are not that smart... The child porn was just the half of it. I came across so many fun pictures and videos (swingers ect..) A few times I was ask to recover videos. Talk about porn. This one job had it organized into every category there is with hundreds of videos. Part of me wished I made a copy of it....

I don't know for certain, but I suspect it was used as a way to "launder" the hacked files the russians got in late 2019 and which was reported on in January 2020. Back then it was predicted that the hacked files would play a role in the election story as perhaps an October surprise.
