I've never understood the point in spending thousands of dollars to hunt something. Where I'm at people from the south come up and dump thousands in leasing land, managing, and hunting whitetails. It's good tourism money and the biggest financial benefit to my county considering there is nothing else. But it's completely priced the locals out of being able to hunt unless they have some family land. Even then many people have given up hunting because it's so lucrative to lease the land to out of staters. I can't help but lol when these guys spend so much and then cousin Jimmy snipes their trophy buck from the side of the road in his RAM pickup truck in the middle of the night.

My Antelope tag was $400. I spent $300 on plane tickets. I spent $0 on a room because my hunting buddies are territory reps and have a million Hilton points each.

During the hunt we ate out a couple of times, probably spent $150-200 on dinners and airport food. This was a hunt on public land in Wyoming, probably burned $200 in over 5 days.



A Dall sheep hunt is a little different. You take a bush plane from Anchorage out to the middle of no where. Your legally required guide then hike's you out tens of miles into the wilderness up into remote Alaska where you find a ram on the side of a mountain and shoot it. You then have to pack the ram you shot out to get back to where the plane can pick you up to go back to civilization. So, it's a 10 day trip into remote wilderness during which you shoot a delicious, unique animal. Now, you can hunt Elk in Montana every year for 2-decades for what a Dall Ram costs, but the Ram is unique.

$20,000 sounds like a lot of money, but I had that in rifles and glass in my truck Sunday for a range trip with my 8 year old.

I also intend to hunt deer, elk, and antelope in Wyoming and Arizona, over the next few years (AZ coues deer this year for sure) on public land only, where you put in for the draw, get your tag (~under 1k) and go hunt. I wouldn't pay for a high-fence hunt on private land. I don't have anything against people who do, but that's not something I'd spend money on.

The allure of a sheep hunt on public land compared to what you described is kind of like the difference between climbing a mountain and working out on a stairmaster.

BTW, strongly recommend Wyoming if anyone's looking at Elk, Mule Deer, or Antelope. The draw odds are pretty good for non-residents with no or few points.

i lived right at 13 and woodward, so it was pretty convenient to stop and get donuts in the morning to bring in to work as I could take woodward all the way downtown. the weekends get a bit crazy, weekdays are best if you're going to be there in the morning.

Around here, unless you have access to private land you could go years without seeing a deer. Something worth mounting, anyway.

for what its worth i heard the Trump campaign is having public hearings presenting all their evidence of voter fraud to the public in Georgia, Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania. maybe things will work out. but im skeptical at best anything will come of it.

I think everyone, even Dems, know there is fraud. But the odds of it being changed is absolutely 0.

It takes prosecutors months or years to develop a case against complex crimes, WITH the ability to get warrants and subpoena witnesses. Trump's campaign has a few weeks and no investigative authority. The hamburglar could have run up, on camera, and dumped thousands of votes in swing states. There wouldn't be enough time to undo it.
