It's been years since I've owned a shotgun (Mossberg)and I was in Big5 the other day and saw this on the rack

    https://www.big5sportinggoods.com/st.../0310150370009

Fiddled with it a bit, felt good in hand, I have been reading reviews and watching YouTube vids on it and overwhelming majority seem to love em.

This 160lb dude has zero issues pumping out rounds

I have zero experience with Dickinson however it seems that the quality to price ratio is high. Ive only shot a pistol grip once years back and it had basically no stock to speak of. Tremendous kick to the wrist.

Anyone else have experience with Dickinson? I'm mainly looking at this since these are currently easy to get and the price to quality ratio seems good.

no experience with that brand of shotgun. never even heard of them for that matter, but if you need a firearm and thats available might as well.

but if i were in your position id try to get a mossberg 500A1 instead, if you can find one that is.

forgive if I misunderstand, but doesn't a red/green laser project a dot without a tube?
Just cleared house with Streamlight HL-X Laser on the 16" aero s-one upper that arrived Sunday. Not using (included) remote switch bc only allows laser to come on with light. Ran with laser on, using strobe or momentary on, MBUS folded down. Really digging unobstructed view and dot was very easy to pick up.

Lasers don't have the battery life to function 24/7/2100 or however many days goes into multiple years continuous.

Lasers can be seen by others, both at their termination and sometimes along the way because of particles in the air.

Lasers have benefit of not requiring any kind of cheekweld at all, so there is that, but don't care for the downsides and don't want to practice or train with a 'who needs cheekweld' setup either

Solid! How do you all like it/been in the trades? I know brozef is a tradie, too. Not sure what type though.

Seems like a better long term choice as trades fall out, plus a little more consistent income compared to having a large portion of income currently coming from commission. Not bad now, but the future is unexpected and some more consistency from a trade seems favorable.

Honestly I would just get a Mossberg or Remington. Maybe they will cost a little more but parts availability and customization are unmatched by any other brands.

I've been in 10 years. Hardest part is preparing for the end of the job, but it depends on what kind of work you want to do. I would imagine residential would he more consistant, I'm in heavy industrial and the jobs usually last a while but dont always overlap. So you gotta get used to preparing for not having income and save money in preparation for it.

^^ my father in law worked the last 20 years straight doing hvac for a company and a refinery.

Kyle Defoor is dropping a Texas pistol class today. Grrrr. I bought that one in Pittsburgh already but TX would be so much closer.

Palmetto state armory has Blazer 115g in stock right now for 60 cents a round. Best you are going to find.

SGammo was selling Tula for 60 cents a round and that’s gone so hurry up.

this would be electrical and through the union would be largely commercial/construction work. It's what i'm shooting for. Shouldn't be too bad for the gaps in jobs/contracts with the union around here, but the knowledge will be priceless IMO and if needed, after getting journeyman, get a lot of flexiblity

I got some family in NY that are part of the IBEW and they got cupcake jobs at the hydro power plant in the falls.

In the winter they run extension cords for Christmas trees or hit overtime doing ice removal on the barge. Summer they just hang out lol

They used to have a "store" there, I used to get some power tools and gloves from them lol. They clamped down on that though so now they give you a card you gotta swipe. I probably have 4 or 5 angle grinders in my barn from that power authority lol
