Yeah I think I'd agree with that. I'd rank the mounting system and backpressure properties above sound reduction for a dedicated 5.56 can

I still suspect you're a troll, but this seems to be substantiated so now I'm not so sure.

Shows how little I know. Probably should have mentioned I wouldn't plan to routinely run sub rounds.

Weight is still a top priority, but I'll swap dB reduction with mounting and backpressure.

Related to convo a few pages back now, work vest. Left to right: 2 kydex holsters (fits MK9, OC blast grenade, or CS/CS ball grenades), whistle (actually a requirement to have on us at all times), key keepers, pens, double pistol mag pouch (fits Folger Adams keys perfectly), pouch (gloves, paperwork, generic crap I need), baton holster (under pouch), large carabineer for handcuffs (easier than pouch), radio holder, work gloves.

Way better than wearing the vest under the shirt, gets too damn hot.

FUK, probably should have. The biggest thing was the safer (imo) trigger safety of the 43. Obv, mag capacity is the big con, and worse trigger pull

Edit: had one shop tell me that they have 43k rounds through their Sig rental with no failures, but the one I was at said they had 2 striker failures on one of theirs, idk probably shouldn't have changed my mind because of that

wow you're working in that and carrying around a ~30lb vest all day. As soon as I saw the weight difference between steel and ceramic, its a no-brainer. Steel isn't cheap anymore.

Ceramic III+ is $240 for a pair of plates. The spalling of steel is going to put you out of the fight and seriously injured regardless of whether you can put up with the extra 15lbs IMO.

Also, I've noticed that most steel plate manufacturers seem to use their own testing and claim conformity to NIJ standards. That's impossible. NIJ performs the testing and randomly inspects/tests units during manufacturing. If its not NIJ tested then its not NIJ certified.

Just some observations I made today after making an impulse buy of steel plates in which the vendor is refusing to cancel the order despite their stated policy otherwise. I'm surprised by the lack of ethics in the body armor industry and their willingness to pedal critical products that simply cannot perform as they claim.

the new gen sig p365s are fine. I think the original p365s (first and second runs had some issues) as long as the build date on it is 2019+ your fine with a sig 365 (dont get the sig sas p365)

We don't have steel or ceramic plates, they are Safariland Spike 3 (stab vests), but with all equipment for my post it's about 20-23 lbs of sht I carry all day.

I meant my personal vest (not for work) is steel.

For the rice I'd say yes, doesn't look tested for multi hit, but let's be real, it would probably stop a few before failure assuming different impact spots. Also, don't think many people are shooting you with 30.06 AP rounds.

Might just snag some too, put the steel aside finally.

Edit: Noticed this one does not say it is certified by the NIJ in the description, only that it meets the standards.

This one states it is NIJ certified.

    Found these too. https://rmadefense.com/product/level...odel-1155-set/

Said fck it (again) and snagged 2 of the ones I linked, saves me about 2 pounds, and it has the same materials as the higher cost plates, ceramic and polyethylene. The ones you first linked are just ceramic.

New administration wants to start taxing unrealized capital gains. In other words, you have $100 in stonks, they appreciate in value $5, you don't sell them, this new proposal states you would be taxed on that $5. If they depreciate, you're stuck holding the ****ing bag.

This is their strategy. Go super far left and then "meet in the middle" and suddenly the 50% capital gains seem reasonable. This has been the playbook for decades.

If you paid with a credit card (which you should for all online purchases) try to do a chargeback if they’re refusing to cancel your order.

That's how you set up "compromise"

It's just like we know with gun control. They want to ban and confiscate everything, we don't want any Rights and Liberties infringed. So they "compromise" by taking some of our Rights and Liberties (giving nothing in return, only taking) and to some it seems 'better' because they didn't take everything all at once. Then, they do it again.

    Simple and effective

    Reposting this with updated priorities.

I still have some time before the move, but I want to start researching a 5.56 can. One of the first things I'll do once getting a new license will be purchasing an SR-15 lower and SBRing it. Will get an SR-15 CQB upper for it. I've shot a handful of suppressed rifles, but overall pretty ignorant. I imagine I'll mostly run the rifle suppressed and my top priorities are weight, mounting system, and back pressure properties. This would be dedicated to 5.56 (and likely only on the SR-15).

They obliged, I believe it was some sort of miss-communication. Had to pay a restocking fee on an order that never got processed, but I'd pay that to get away from the steel plates tbh.

That's exactly what I was looking for and I didn't think it was possible. Cert'd IV ceramic/polyethylene plates for the same price as steel, easy choice.
    no one thinks that srs
