    Fasting is counter-productive to muscle building/maintaining. There was another thread posted about this that cited a recently released study about the effects of intermittent fasting.

    Results
    - no significant difference in fat loss
    - (non-significantly) greater reduction in RMR in IF participants
    - no difference in health markers
    - significantly larger muscle loss in IF participants (65% was LBM compared to 20-30% in the other group!)
    - calories measured retrospectively - and they were similar across groups but protein not measured
    All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.
