    .

Going rate is $3/lb for plain steel/cast iron here. Anything plastic of rubber coated is crazy.

Online places here are chock full of ads for 25lb plates at $60 each minimum and I've seen up to $90 each (not pair). I can buy a pair retail for $65 but no none has them in stock because every wanker out there wants to make a few bucks.

Is the $65 tag Canadian Tire? I once commented on peoples' greed on the equipment forum and I was called every name under the Sun. I'm so glad I ego bought for the future before Covid came around.

Thankfully I have 2 full olympic sets of plates and 2 bars. I have a rack with a movable bench in the basement and just do bar work outside (deadlifts, military, front squats and rows). I got all that stuff years ago for free when I used to move furniture.

Problem I'll have in the winter is my basement ceiling is like 6'1" and I'm 6ft. I'll have to load up all my 25's, 10's and 5's for front squats.

I'm going to build something outside with 4x6's in the ground and a pullup bar across the top. Then have pipes coming out at squat height to put the bar on.

Get yourself some proloc cambered bar attachments for your barbells. I have a set on the way so I can do OHP in the basement.

Are the weights fixed or do they swing? Does it feel the same as a traditionally loaded bar? I feel like this would make me off balance for some reason.

The weights will swing somewhat and that is the point. I don't have them yet, so I don't know how much they will affect this lift, but I do know it is a popular solution for home gym owners.

The only other option I have is to do Z presses and I have tried and it is awkward AF.

Lisa is lucky she's so short, she can do normal standing OHP with no issues. LOL.

I don't know how much weight 2 Olympic sets is. I have a heated/insulated barn/shed with a basement where I keep a York 2001, a bunch of cement plates and a ceiling setup with bars and chains, but I only use what's in my bedroom and sometimes my treadmill in the utility room. Put your rack upstairs.

They come in 2 sizes: 14" drop and a 16" drop. For OHP you probably want the smaller drop, as you will get less swing.

Mine are on the way, but USPS tracking is a joke so I have no idea when.

Every update just says they are on the way, with no estimated delivery date or location information. LMAO. What's the point then?
