    OP, if you’re not feeling high bar, switch to low bar. You’ll feel much more comfortable and confident squatting and that’s way more important than the extra 2% quad activation or whatever that you might get from high bar.

    You can still build massive quads from low bar squats and there’s always other exercises you can do, like front squats, safety bar squats, etc. if an exercise isn’t suited to your body, don’t do it. It’s as simple as that.

    You’ll also get more hamstring development from low bar. Underdeveloped hamstrings are one of the most common culprits of knee pain. So there’s an advantage atleast, if you were to switch to low bar.
