Double the storage for $100-150? They would take a $100 loss more just on the storage.
There is a reason why Microsoft is selling their 1TB external storage for $200+, because that's what PCI 4.0 SSD's cost right now. Canada bro's like me are paying over $300 for an external SSD. Sony hasn't even released which ones will work with their console because essentially none actually exist to buy as a consumer. They are going to be expensive AF for a long time until the technology can catch up and prices can go down. It isn't just any SSD that can work for the Series X and PS5, it's PCI 4.0's. This is for the new gen games at least. I know on Xbox you can use the old SSD or HDD for Xbox One games to run on the Series X, I think PS5 is the same for back compat. games.
I'll take the extra 200GB's of storage in the Series X and 5 seconds extra of a loading screen over the PS5's 660GB any day of the week. Not part of any crews crew

I think there is reason to believe Sony systems might see that software but if that is the case MS will definitely do a nice timed exclusivity window and/or content. I mean all MS need to do to have a massive advantage with people who want to play that soft is say "you can play it here a year early for free with GamePass or wait a year and spend $70 on it".

You're both idiots.
Big name Bethesda titles will absolutely be cross platform. Just because MS owns ZeniMax does not mean that big titles will absolutely be exclusives. It does mean that those big titles will be day and date on GamePass, which is Microsoft's huge selling point. Why this gets lost on you plebs still is beyond me. Microsoft is running on accessibility. You won't get God of War or The Last of Us but you also won't need to shell out $70 on the new Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
Barney is an idiot because TES and Fallout series are extremely highly rated series (excluding FO76) and will definitely be coming to the next generation of games. Also, MS owning ZeniMax means that Starfield will not only be coming to Xbox, but Xboxers won't have to pay $70 for it.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

Me saying that Skyrim/FO are dogchit are my personal opinion, as Skyrim was/is nothing more than a dumbed down offline MMORPG. Sure, they are absolutely money printers, but they can't milk them forever. Or maybe they can.
Plus it was released 9 years ago, TES VI is nowhere in sight and after Bethesda fuking up with FO4 and especially with FO76 I'm fairly sure that people won't put up with another half-finished Bethesda failure built on a decade+ year old graphic engine.
Point is, they tanked the FO and Wolfenstein franchises, TES is a work-in-progress maybe, so they have Doom and maybe Starfield.

I don´t care about any of that. Thats some ******* chit right there big fella.
Sony has better OS or whatever. Better user interface, better controllers and cheaper price for new console. Boom, they win in what matters. If you want maximum graphics, choose a pc. The slightly more powerful xbox gpu won´t cut it. Playstation just feels better to play on, in the same way some people say that apple OS just feels better. SOny just works, and have always delivered. Xbox have had a long list of problems.
Microsoft are trying to make their xbox more like a pc, while sony focuses on why consoles are great. I buy a console for the best uses experience. Raw graphics and big storage is not the most important for me, when I just want a few games to play on my couch. The new xbox even looks like a PC. Why not just get a pc instead of the xbox? Playstation looks like a consoles and handles like a console.Last edited by PimpMasterC; 10-07-2020 at 10:25 AM.

MS did say "case by case basis" .... And they did mention that they plan to honor the contracts sony previously had with Bethesda. That said, I do seeing Starfield / ES6 having one year to 6 year exclusivity before coming onto PS5 and we'll probably also see timed releases for the DLC where PS5 owners gets it much later than Xbox. It makes absolute sense for this to happen.
Unless MS really just wants to go for the jugular and stop Sony from having these games at any cost .... But that doesnt make sense from a business standpoint due to the lost sales and doesnt mesh with Xbox's strategy. I'm sure if MS had their way, they'd try to offer Gamepass on all platforms, but of course Sony wont ever entertain that.Sig line can't be a novel

Nothing you've said is remotely true.
Sony has a better single player video game library and (per sources) a better hard drive setup. The rest of what you said is conjecture and opinion and easily disagreeable.
The Xbox One Controller >>>>>> Ps4 controller.
Xbox Dashboard > Sony OS (Both are hot garbage but the Series X dashboard seems OK from what I've read)
Cheaper Price? I guess if you're going for the non-physical drive but that's not an apples to apples comparison at that comparative level you could say Xbox is cheaper by virtue of the garbage Series S.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

The power difference should not be too bad between the systems, especially depending on how developers utilize them. Despite the XboneX being the "most powerful console" for the time, did they ever actually do anything with that power? Sony had first party titles pushing the system to its limits for impressive results, and any Microsoft exclusives that will put the Series X hardware to proper use are probably a few years away, especially since Halo sh*t the bed so hard.
An additional equalizing factor is that Microsoft committed to supporting the Xbone for two years, while also having to continue supporting the Series S. The latter will benefit much more from scaling, but to have such a low target will still likely have some negative impact.
When it comes to third party, cross-platform titles, we could be looking at differences in frame rate, resolution/resolution scaling, and maybe smaller levels of detail. The more prominent factor will be any system exclusives or timed deals, something Sony has made an effort to secure, as well as Microsoft through their Zenimax/Bethesda deal.
We also have to see how Sony's far superior SSD works in practice, not only for first party games, but particularly third party ones that might not bother to use the technology to its full potential.
From a budgetary standpoint, the PS5's SSD must have cost enough to force them to offset the rest of the system's power where the Xbox exceeds it. Again, we'll just have to see how things level out in real-time tests, but I don't think it will be drastic enough to cause any regrets over which system you chose. They could slap a 3090 into the Xbox, but if all it had to play wasMonkeHalo Infniite for 10 years, it wouldn't really matter.
~ Bit of a tangent ~
Going back to the subject of manufacturing expenses, which in turn affected the balance in overall specifications and the loss that the companies are willing to sell at, what keeps lingering in my mind with the PS5 other than the SSD is the Tempest Audio Engine. That is actually an AMD graphics compute unit that has been re-engineered to handle the audio through the system itself, but I'm curious how much said unit actually cost them.
It's also another aspect that will be interesting to see comparisons over other audio solutions like Microsoft's choice for Dolby Atmos. What makes the audio side so odd is that chances are that people who care enough about audio might already have equipment that supports Dolby Atmos given how ubiquitous it is, while the average person is probably just using regular TV speakers. Supposedly, Tempest won't support television speakers yet, but it will be supported down the line, so either way your average consumer might not even know the difference between either option.
According to Sony, their solution is better than Dolby, but both subjectivity and more "objective" testing aside, we also don't know if it will be limited like many other sides of this overall discussion by how much effort a developer puts into the system's advantages. For example, Sony's engine might be able to handle hundreds or thousands of sound sources, but if the developer only recorded or programmed a fraction of that, it might level out with the more widely available options.
Yet again, though, this might be something we will see first party games take the most advantage of to really showcase the difference.
That's my take as well.
Microsoft is clearly going for exposure, availability, and service saturation across as many platforms as possible; they're even putting Xcloud on iOS.
And even though Microsoft claims that they would not put their services on the Switch or Playstation, I have a feeling that you're right and they probably would offer Gamepass to Nintendo and Sony if they knew there was a snowball's chance in hell of them accepting. They're also likely trying to get a strong enough foothold after being so far at the bottom before trying such a thing, too.
I do naively hope that Sony continues to open up a bit more in response, in part because some games can really benefit from even greater exposure, and to Sony's credit, they back a lot of crazy games that sometimes need that extra push. Demon's Souls is the perfect example because if it wasn't for FROM/Bandai Namco going for a wider release with Dark Souls that we might not have ever seen an entire sub-genre of games surge in popularity.
Death Stranding is another one where even if it's not to my taste, I'm still happy that it was ever made and funded, and all the more exposure it gets is all the more sand to throw in Konami's eyes.
I just have to say... I am still livid about what they did to Wolfenstein.
When they hit New Colossus, they had One. Fukking. Job. Make Doom, but with Nazis.
I did not get Doom, but with Nazis. I don't know what the hell I got, but it sure wasn't Doom, but with Nazis.
*Side thought - now with Microsoft holding the purse strings, maybe they can throw some cash Bethesda's way to properly update their bloody engine? After all, they willingly threw half a billion andMonkeHalo Infinite's engine.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die

The only idiot is you and any muppet who thinks any future ZeniMax title will ever see a Sony screen other than the two that have been announced (the exclusives with contracts). Starfield, ES5, Fallout 5/NV2 will never EVER see a Sony screen.
You clowns think Microsoft is competing with Sony, they aren't. They are competing with Amazon and Google. Sony will be left in the dust in 10+ years when Microsoft, Amazon and Google own every studio to build there streaming platforms.
You goofballs talking about cope and then chiting on all these games that are so allegedly terrible, then say, "nah they'll be a 1 year exclusive at most". It's hilarious the narrative you people drum up to fill your levels of cope. Talk more chit about the games you'll never play you jealous rubes.Last edited by JPeeper; 10-10-2020 at 02:51 AM.
