Cliffs:
How raytracing works
PS5 Impressive AF and big jump from last gen
Even this light remaster shows significant technical improvements
Insomniac does tremendous job at utilizing available power
My take:
LoL@ what 343 did with Halo
Wish PS5 had Series X's GPU power
Imagine what Insomniac could do with that 20-30% more power
Sony needs a PS5 Pro if they want all of the premium market

PS5 already looking weak?

At the end of the day it's which console provides the better games @ price
So far Xbox is winning with game pass subscription and owning Bethesda but we'll see how PS responds."It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience."

First time I've seen a breakdown of raytracing and thought that was neat and how the budgeting of frames works.
Really not impressed with the remaster. The fact Sony is trying to extort the players for the upgrade who already bought it for PS4 is brutal.
The NDA lifts tomorrow on the review units and Sony chose to only give it to Japanese journalists. Sony once again not wanting to fully disclose everything it seems. Hopefully they allow the reviewers to actually provide details of substance. A pic of the real unit was finally released and its a beast, good luck to those who have to find a spot for that thing.

I get your point and its fair but it seems like they just went in and bumped the settings from high to ultra and then just called it a remaster. Sure they replaced peter parkers asset and maybe some textures here and there but its not like they took some PS1 game and brought it up to date to a new engine. VHS to 4K UHD would take more work. This just feels like a money grab to me and not consumer friendly which Sony has been under fire for this past little while. But I guess everyone has the option if they wanna shell out for it.

664 of usable storage space? Sigh.

This would make sense, as Sony officially shared that the PS5 SSD size will be 825GB. Because of how computers work, that is to say in binary, 1GB actually equals 1,073,741,824 bytes instead of 1,000,000,000 bytes; this alone translates the 825GB figure into 768GB. If you add 104GB reserved for the PlayStation 5's OS, we've got 664GB of actually usable storage space.

I feel like now more then ever is time to go to pc. If big Navi drops and puts even more affordable options shiiiit. Pretty much everyone I know who plays games regularly has switched now. Hell even pro call of duty is now switching to pc/controller instead of console.

Yeah I could never understand the love some people have for the PS4 myself, it always seemed like an overhyped and overrated console, and I owned two since it launched. The OS has always been slow and problematic for me, lagging and freezing at times, needing database rebuilds and chit, and it's always a bitch whenever you have a power outage. The built in battery also proved to be a less than desirable design with mediocre battery life and no way to quickly recharge/replace it.

Did this guy just say Xbox is beating ps5 in games? Lol?
Also here you go OP, a side by side comparison. For an already great looking game, the Ps5 version still looks much clearer and smoother to me. And it's not even a game that's built ground up for the ps5, it's only a remaster. Weak thread man.

How so? It's decent. What ruins the analogy is you have MS so far being much more consumer friendly than Sony. $20 for a remaster isn't bad, many would consider it a good deal but when MS is swinging their Smart Delivery big dik around it looks bad, IMO. Besides the competition, that analogy stands as Sony is letting you play the PS4 version on PS5, just simply charging for the remaster.
Yes he did. The cope some Xboxers have is beyond me, LoL
The game is impressive for a last gen remaster. That's not my point. It's great, I am excited to play it, blah blah. My point is how the video breaks down GPU utilization and the sacrifices Insomniac has had to make in the different modes because of limited GPU resources. If the Series X wasn't 20-30% more powerful than the PS5 it's completely insignificant, and for this game it's insignificant since Xbox will never see Spider-man (or many good games, LoL). However, the video's conversation around the sacrifices to be made because of only so much GPU power is sad to hear when keeping in mind Xbox currently has that massive power advantage which wouldn't need to make the same sacrifices. Could Series X run this at 60fps in 4k with RT on? Perhaps. I think it's further indication that multi platform games made by capable studios will run significantly better on the Series X than PS5. So again, Sony needs a PS5Pro to solidify the premium gamer market they are clearly trying to capture.

I think the lower spec of the two consoles already has that power where it can make incredible looking games based on current gen expectations. It comes down to who will optimize better and Sony first party companies have a demonstrated history of producing better looking games than Xbox first parties.
I won’t be buying either until a decent catalog comes out but I’m just gonna use the new halo as a baseline and lol awayMS, Computer Science

Sonyboys will do mental gymnastics to rationalize getting ass fuked by Sony is a good thing.
Like a comment I saw a week ago when Sony came out with another stupid policy, "Sony fists their fans and their fans say 'deeper'".
Sony is going full Don Mattrick with the launch of the PS5 and yet somehow people are praising them, they've literally not done one good thing for this next-gen whereas Microsoft has done a 180 and can seemingly do no wrong. All saves transfer over, more storage space, more powerful console, gamepass, all exclusives launching on gamepass day 1 (whereas Sony is upping the price of games LOL), buying Bathesda, buying a dozen other studios to help their profile, Smart Delivery so you don't get price gouged twice, Project xCloud. Not part of any crews crew

Everything you say about MS doing a 180 and being better, and better than Sony in many ways is correct. Doesn't change the fact Sony has vastly superior software. Jay, our resident retard says the two platforms share the vast majority of their libraries, and he is right about that. But most people will only play a small fraction of those libraries and many of the best games are exclusive titles not shared on both platforms. Metacritic has the top exclusives of the past gen list and MS only had 3 titles in the top 20, two of those titles being Forza games which we know a full fledged Grand Tourismo is better than. Good on what MS has done on investing in software but they are still significantly behind and have very little that shows any promise coming in the next 2-3 years.
People need to stop being biased. MS is providing the best place to play mutliplats with Series X and the cheapest access to quantity of games with consumer friendly policies and GamePass while Sony is providing access to the best quality of games.
