I am looking for a bike, mostly for cardio but I am not entirely sure what to get. Spin bike or fan bike, if standing the spin bike seems like it can do as much cardio as the fan bikes, and has some applications they can be rigged up to work with. Fan bikes can work the upper body as well. Looking at fan bikes though I was looking at the Marcy Air-1 for about $300 and the Rogue Echo for $800 and wondering if I go with a fan bike if I should really spend an extra $500 on one. Most good spin bikes I see are around the $300 mark as well. Any kind of information would be helpful.

I'd pick up a used commercial spin bike off FB marketplace or craigslist. pre-rona I'd see them pop up for $150-$300. They can take a beating and are meant to be used for many hours per day. There are tons of videos on youtube you can ride along to.

I actually thought long and hard about this. I don't want the air bikes with arms because I always found that the arms get in the way. But I do want something that'll burn a lot of calories, and work a lot of muscle groups, hopefully my back and a spin bike won't do that. After measuring the space I've determined I do have the space for a rower, and that's what I am going to get. I will make another thread that is more relevant.

This is the right answer. Just buy a used commercial spinning bike. The commercial ones are very tough and you can find them all over the place. My friend was talking about buying a Peloton and told him he should look long and hard at it. They are very expensive and there is a monthly fee for the classes.
I may pick up a spin bike myself if they close the gyms again like they are talking about doing.
