I'm looking at $1000. Ps5, Pulse headset and 4 games. Cyberpunk, Black Ops, Nba 2k21, and Demon Souls. And I still haven't upgraded to 4k tv. I may be able to find a good deal on black friday tbh

I bought my LG C9 65 inch last Black Friday for an absolute steal. I have been lazy and still haven't preordered a PS5 but it'll happen at some point - I want to play the HZD sequel so badly.
I'll be doing Cyberpunk on PC - and there I'll be dropping a lot. Whatever the Asus PG32UQX costs when it comes out, plus the fastest single gpu card at that time as well.Last edited by Aristotelian; 10-01-2020 at 10:56 AM.

I'll take it one year at a time. I'm looking at $5k give or take some for 2020...
Wanna build a whole new rig with a high end CPU (Zen 3 or Intel's 11th), RTX 3080, 64GB DDR4 RAM, 2TB PCI-e 4.0 nVME M.2 SSD, modular PSU, dope mobo with BlueTooth on it (maybe WiFi). Top it off with a nice new case (Carbide 678c most likely) and a nice CPU cooler (Corsair H115i most likely).
That alone will cost a lot, but I'm also looking into 3x 1440p 144hz IPS monitors as well.
2021 I'll consider getting a Xbox Series X / PS5. But for now I'll stick to PC, especially since you can play the upcoming exclusive games on the Ps4 Pro / Xbox One X as well.

Sad day boys, I'm 31, I've managed to get every console since the original nintendo. I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of them, but today I decided to not buy another console. I may even sell ps4. I think my gaming days are over. Bummed because I was looking forward to new ass creed and cyber punk. God speed bros

Pre-ordered a PS5, extra controller, controller charger, and pulse headset so $600 before tax.
I assume the headset won't hold up to my SteelSeries but I am in to try Sony's 3D audio gimmick to judge for myself then maybe sell it.
Have a Sony 930 so I think I am set on a TV. Would like something with HDMI 2.1 but these early models sacrifice too much for someone like me who has a decent 4kHDR set already. Hopefully the next batch of HDMI 2.1 TVs are better as I'd love a good reason to upgrade.
And yea, games. I often wait to for sales but will probably end up paying full price for a game that has some sort of PS5 experience at launch. Really hoping TLoU2 Remastered or Sushi Ghost Remastered is ready for PS5 launch, but if not I'll pick up that Spiderman and Black Spiderman package as it's looking juicy AF.
When your fun ends at 31, RIP. LoL

I'll never understand Day 1 buyers. Have ya learned nothing from the Red Ring of Death?
I didn't buy a PS4 until almost 2 years after launch. I won't be buying a PS5 until they give a hard release date for God of War.
If Microsoft makes a 3rd Evil Within Game then that's when I'll buy the new xboxDisclaimer: All posts made by [LtGoose] are works of satire. By reading this you agree to absolve the author of any and all liability.

I've had the OG Xbox One since launch day it runs completely fine, so the RRoD issue is dead to me. I got RRoD during the 360 era, but it was a month of no Xbox, and they ended up just sending me a brand new one any way.
But for this gen I have budgeted money for it already. $500 for a Series X, $1600-$2000 for a 4k 120hz 2.1 HDMI Smart blah blah blah TV, $200 headset.
I saved up money for a TV and Xbox One way back, but then I got a HDTV for free and my ex ended up buying me the console as a surprise, so deadass this money has been sitting in a fund in my bank account for 7 years, which was $2000. Then slap on my tax returns for this year and I'm flush with cash. I already bought Cold War and I really don't play anything outside of GamePass games other than GTA, RDR. I just recently bought THPS and the Mafia Collection so I'm good.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

Need to build a new rig to replace this one I built in 2014 and will surely pick up a PS5 and whatever Nintendo comes out with
Also need to pick up a new monitor, hopefully a 48" LG CX whenever they become available in Canada
Maybe like $5-6k overall? And then will be good for the next 5+ years again

I mean if the games you have been waiting for are 3rd party and you really have no interest in Sony exclusives the Xbox Series X is the clear winner.
Not everyone is poor. Plenty of people would rather risk higher failure rates and enjoy the new tech than waiting two years. Besides hardware this past gen had really low failure rates, even on the original models.

Just the digital console at launch. Will be getting Demon’s Souls 100% and most likely the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. Godfall is tempting me but I’m not sure yet. At some point later on, I’ll pick up the headset and possibly some of the other accessories.

Definitely grabbing a ps5, though I didn't preorder so may have to wait a few months. But total only spending about $6-700 to start - the system and a couple games. Maybe a new headset.
Torn between the all-digital or drive option...don't really mind not having discs for games, but 4k blu ray would be cool.
Re: TV - Black Friday is around the corner, you'll definitely find some great deals. Last year - I got a 65" 4k tv for $350. It's not top of the line obviously but it's been great, excellent picture and a big step up from my higher end 1080 tv.

Just $500 for the Series X for right now. I only bought it to secure mine as I don't know how supply is going to be, and I wanted to be prepared in case any of those rumors about a BF3 remaster were true (which I doubt).
Why would you end something that's giving you happiness and enjoyment? If it's a money thing you can always stick with your PS4 for the time being.

i'll be waiting about a year to see how the consoles are developing game wise and performance wise before I make a purchase.
It will be the game console + an extra controller for 2 players and 1 game to start so lets say $500 +70 +70.. if i'm lucky it could be a holiday bundle for cheaperLast edited by rocketfish; 10-01-2020 at 01:30 PM.

And @ everyone who replied to me, I get it, and to be honest video games are one of my main hobbies. So I hate to give it up, I know this sounds poverty but it's hard for me these days to justify spending half a grand on a gaming system. I know to some of y'all that's not much but to me it us. But you all are right, maybe I should just not panick at the fact I can't buy a next gen immediately like I used to. Thanks bros srs. Reps being spread
