I don't for one minute believe Trump is a "white supremacist".

I think his history shows he's prejudiced, however I have family who will make comments about foreigners (e.g. eastern Europeans and crime) which are factually racist but doesn't mean they hate all eastern Europeans or would be considered racist.

My belief is that Trump doesn't want to endanger any voters by calling out people specifically, especially when he's called out on it and has to answer instantly. This doesn't make him a racist, it just means he's trash at thinking on his feet, which I doubt is news to anyone. This is all the media will talk about now and while it might be unfair in places by what they infer from it, having a POTUS who is incapable of saying hate groups are bad when called to do so in the moment is nothing for a nation to aspire to.

It's more about the fact he doesn't like jumping through media hoops "are you willing to condemn white supremacists" when he already did it years ago. I think his history shows he's the exact opposite of prejudice, especially that bombshell Platinum Plan which I'm not sure I like.

The election is too multi-factorial to confirm if THAT soundbite is what cost him. A large portion of the system is rigged against Republicans regardless, I'm sure you can see that. Between social media, academia, and the majority of news outlets being 24/7 anti conservative smear factories.
