Any recommendations for a bench program to pair with Candito's 6-week program?
I've run his program in the past and didn't get much out of my bench with it so was wanting to pair it with a specific bench program.
Thanks fellas.

One of Nuckols 28 programs would work. I almost ran the 3x intermed-medium with the C6W.
Didn't you try some other bench programming with the Candito once before?2020 maxes

I believe I did and it was the Nuckol's 28 program one. I know it falls a week or 2 short of Candito's 6-week program. I was hoping to find something that runs alongside it. I know there's a mash-up of his advanced bench program that's been used with his 6-week strength program.
Edit: Looking at that Greg Nuckol's 3x intermediate medium set up could definitely work. Question is since it’s 4 weeks what would you do with the other two weeks?Last edited by Anthony21; 09-28-2020 at 06:03 PM.

1: Drop week 6 from Candito. Just use E1rms from the week 5 sets of 1-4. Week 6 is 1rm testing but you don't need that if you're not going into a meet.
2: Don't do a 1rm in Nuckols week 4 day 3. Just do the amap set at 85% and max out in week 5 of Candito.
3: In week 5 of Candito, bench a heavy set of 1-4 on day 2, just as planned for sq and DL, and calculate your new 1rms from there.
C's adv. bench together with his 6 week would be hella hard IMO.2020 maxes

That’s an awesome plan man and I really appreciate you breaking it down like that. It sounds like I have a game plan now thanks to you.
Yeah, the mash-up of his two programs just looked like way too much and would absolutely bury me.
What percentage would you use for the heavy set of bench on week 5? I guess using 97.5% for 1-4 would be good since that's the percentage used on Candito's. Would it be that percentage based on your AMAP set from Nuckol's program?Last edited by Anthony21; 09-28-2020 at 06:50 PM.

Nah I won't go for a true 1rm. I'll just go for 1-4 reps at 97.5%.
So for example on week 4 of Nuckol's it says 180 for AMAP then If you get 5-6, bump your max up 5 pounds. If you get 7+, bump your max up 10 pounds.
So I'll bump the training max up based on the AMAP and then use that TM on week 5 of Candito. Does that make sense cause it does to me but may sound confusing lol.My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441
