Here we go again boys, another 100+ hours of my life.
Wish I could forget P5 somehow and experience this all again for the first time. I never saw it coming.

Bought steelbook edition for 25 EUR on Amazon last month. Think it was a mistake from their end, because they corrected it back the day after.
The Persona 5 soundtrack was already insane, but the Royal-version of the battle theme is actually even better.
Really, it's so good.
For your time:
Only reason I'll buy the PS5 is Persona 6 HNNNGGGG.
Unless Microsoft actually buys (part of) Sega.
Have fun playing it broski.

Btw, that's one of the best parts about Royal: Morgana doesn't force you to go to sleep. You can actually do some stuff to boost your social stats or skills (read a book, game or even water your fcking plant lol).
Errrr, depends.
It's mostly the same but has a lot of quality of life improvements. Content-wise you get an additional semester and 2 new protagonists, so up to you if you think the replayability is high enough for you.
Trophies are also a bit less of a nuisance, so if you're interested in collecting Platinums, that's good news for you too:
For players returning from Persona 5, you will be pleased to hear the trophy list is heavily streamlined and focuses on Royal's new features, cutting out trophies that require excessive amounts of scheduling and organisation. While you still need to max out all of your social stats for Pure Perfection again, you won't need to read every book, watch DVDs or max every confidant. Passionate Listener, much to the relief of most Persona 5 platinum earners, has also been removed.

That is great. I might get it in the future. Wasnt able to plat P5 cuz I ran out of semester/days to fully upgrade my character. lol. 2 new protagonists any cool?
Oh and the trophies are separate list? Or same as P5?
Anyway, those wondering, I think the free PS+ game for PS5 is the regular version. Not the Royal.CHRISTMAS Forever Crew

P5. Not Royal.
For a game about a group of high schoolers that have secret identities as heroes the weeby elements are WAY less overbearing than I thought they'd be.
It's definitely a JRPG so there's some of the JRPG tropes but they are outweighed by the good stuff.
Atmosphere, music, and style are S tier. For a game that will take you at least 100 hours to beat it wraps you up like a warm fuzzy blanket. The life sim side is very chill in a way that's unlike any game I've played before.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

Ive been wanting to try this game but confused about which version to get. There’s persona 5 ultimate, p5 royal and p5 royal ultimate. Not sure what the differences are and if they are worth the drastic price differences.

Yeah well I think progress is the reason why. Persona 3 and 4 came out before we had patching for games, they were both PS2 games originally and back then the only way to update a game and add content was to release an entirely new version since everything was on disc and there was no real internet capability for the console outside of some multiplayer for a few games.
Considering how Persona 5 is a PS4 game and how we have had games that get mega-patches and massive updates that essentially bring it up to date with DLC there is no excuse to stick with that old fashioned approach of releasing an updated version of a game, even games like Street Fighter V did away with that making the vanilla version of the game update to the arcade edition for everyone with a patch, and that used to be the classic example of a series that kept releasing updated versions for people to buy. Honestly Persona 5 is the only game I can think of that is selling content that could have been patched in as an entirely new game separated from the original release these days. I think they definitely did that just to milk the fans and get them to buy the game again.

Thanks brah. Youre on recharge. lol.
@mgftp, I aint a JRPG fan. I prefer Western RPGs(grew up with CRPG types), but I enjoyed this game a lot. Not my favorite, but still very fun. But like most JRPGs(I played Chrono Trigger, Legend of Mana, Shadow Hearts, and a few others), the characters can be very dorky/corny, or in Misc terms- incels.CHRISTMAS Forever Crew

The new tracks are just as good which is amazing since the P5 soundtrack is one of the best ever.
Just cleared first palace and waiting for the change of heart. Feels goodman. I love the story of first palace since it shows the formation of the phantom thieves, but I dislike the actual palace since the game is SO linear at that point, you have few moves and there's a tutorial every 5 feet.
Excited to get to palace two and recruit best boi yusuke.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

Just started palace #2 and the feels train is picking up speed. About to unlock Yusuke and dump Ann from the lineup forever (no hetero).
Soundtrack has some truly great tunes - the fact you can hear them for HOURS and not get sick of it is pretty amazing.
Royal has some quality of life changes but most of the new content is toward the end of the game - so far it's pretty much the same game as P5.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

Yeah I usually hate weeabchit and JRPG's but this game has a ridiculous amount of polish and it's got lots of charm, not your typical fantasy JRPG chit, they did an amazing job with making it appealing. I actually picked this up on sale since I never got all that far in the original version of P5, figured might as well just start over on this updated version. It's also nice how they offer all the original DLC for free with this.

It just oozes charm. The story line is very simplistic in terms of good vs. evil, and most conflicts wrap up with a super straightforward resolution, but you can't help but get sucked in. Even the "high stakes" sections of the game feel very chill.
I think I'll be sending the second calling card tonight.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.
