    Advice for hyper metabolisms?

    Hi, Scragsmagoo here. Any advice for muscle gains for somebody who has a super fast metabolism? So, I used to weigh the same weight for years, even through highschool I was only 110 pounds. As of now I'm 31 and weighing in at 130 pounds. I just started working out about a year and a half ago and I seem to have trouble making gains anywhere. I can eat five meals a day to still weigh the same weight and my calorie intake is usually around 3k per day. I now work in a factory for 8 to 10 hours 6 days a week as a palletizer, so I lift 24 to 50 pound boxes every shift (I gained 10 pounds after starting this job). One thing I did notice is that my muscles tend to gas pretty quickly when working out (I.E curling a barbell.). I don't have a lot of time to eat the healthiest, so i try to make sure anything I eat is pretty protien packed. I tried protien shakes but some brands make my stomach physically ill and others make me feel like I haven't eaten in days, so I try to eat as much solid food as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I doubt you have a metabolic issue.

    Much much more likely to be simply a case of feeling full quickly and having an active job.

    The solution is simple - consistently eat more calories than you do now. By whatever means possible. Drink your calories - milk, ground oatmeal shakes. Add oil to foods. You can even have some candy / icecream / biscuits etc. as long as your basic diet includes nutritious foods like fruit and veg.

    No need to overdo the protein - as this actually kills appetite. As long as you are getting at least 130g a day, you are fine.

    I'm only 5'6 and 130 pounds, but the issue here is that most of the time I don't feel full unless i have two or three heaping plates of food at least. So, I eat way more than a normal person would any given day whether I'm working out or not.

    Tell us the types foods that these 5 meals are comprised of.

    What's your favorite pizza? How many slices?

    What's your favorite flavor of ice cream? Flavor of milkshake?

    How often do you eat peanut butter? Peanuts/nuts?

    What type of cheese do you prefer on your cheeseburger?

    If you're not gaining on 3000 then eat 3500 calories a day. Its not that hard if you incorporate some higher calorie stuff. Nuts/nut butters, oils, avocados, salmon, whole milk, etc.

    Remember you don't want to gain too fast though, all it takes is 1-2 lbs PER MONTH.
    All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

    Start measuring the calories in what you eat. Do this for reasonably long time - then add an extra 300 calories every day and see what happens.

    u have to save your energy...not only body activities but also metabolism activities..for that eat less than the hunger and do meditation

    Probably the best would be to consult a nutritionist. You will pass the tests and then the doctor will pick up food for your organism. Tips on the Internet are good, but not all of them can be useful because everyone is individual.

    Maybe you have some health problems and because of this you have a high metabolism. In any case, it is better to consult a doctor

    I had to eat 4000 to start gaining weight when i was 150lbs, and it went up to 4800. Very active, fast metabolism.
    My favorite foods that were such high calorie and easy to get down were:
    Pasta
    Ribeye steaks
    Whole milk
    Granola
    Peanut Butter

    Try making homemade gainer shakes with whole milk, protein powder, oatmeal, PB and olive oil. EASY 1000+ cals.

    Eating smaller meals more frequently will also help get the calories in, dont be afraid to have some unhealthy foods to get over your maintenance. Eventually you will get used to force feeding yourself and it will get so, so much easier.

    No. What is true is that if you consistently eat more calories than you burn you are fat but if you consistently eat less calories than you burn you are thin.
