A month ago, in this thread you stated you have 90+ pounds to lose. Why would you be taking a mass gainer?

Would not recommend mass gainers. You would be putting in carbs/fat/protein from who knows where into you when you could be making stuff yourself in the kitchen.
As for your question, generally when people take mass gainers it's when they hit a plateau and aren't able to gain weight/muscle so instead of taking the time to cook meals they'd rather just drink something and get it over with. Gainers can pack a LOT of calories depending on which one you get.

Mass gainers are an especially bad idea for people who already "know" how to gain weight.
I can tell time. Time cannot tell me.

This. And, nutrient timing isn't relevant to the vast majority of people. Asking the question you did is like asking, "When should I eat dinner brahs? Before or after I sit down."

It really depends...in general, I'd avoid them. But if you do take them, you can take them before or after. Again, it's probably best to avoid them

Not if they need more calories and this is their method of getting them.

And "healthy" is a BS and subjective term that, regardless of meaning, has zero impact on body comp goals.

Depends on what and why avoid? It's just powdered food and calories that if one needs the help meeting macro and caloric goals can be used like any other food.

Cool. Then you'd be wrong. Protein != hypertrophy. Hypertrophy is driven by a caloric surplus to TDEE, weight training with progressive volume and getting rest. That's it.

Further, you failed to address any of the comment and just "disagreed". That's the pro move apparently.
