This is true. Although this isn't entirely a question of our perspectives changing as we age. Men in 1980 did actually look older than men of the same age do now (modern soy boy lifestyle etc). The difference was even greater when you look at young men in photos from the 1950s. You see WWII soldiers who were maybe early 20s, but looked like a 40 year-old would now.

For me, an oldhead is 55-60. Then again, you have another stage of "old" after that, like 85+ with little hair left, covered in liverspots and wrinkles, using a stick to walk, unable to hear properly, senile etc.
