This is one of the biggest fights in a while, since both fighters are undefeated. After Saturday night, one will be undefeated and one will have one loss.
There are a lot of factors. The striker vs the brawler. Costa weighed in at 185 and made weight, but tomorrow night, he will be over 200lbs.
If Adesanya can survive the first round, his odds will increase since he is an excellent counter-striker. Costa is very strong and will press forward with pressure constantly, using body shots then moving up. Costa's opponents usually do not last much more than one round. But, Adesanya's strength is pin-point accurate striking and Costa is left open.
If Adesanya stays with a game-plan and comes in confident, he may have a chance. But, as usual, I am a horrible at predicting.

It could happen, but Costa IMO will have to be worn down and he has a chin.
Remember Adesanya vs Gastelum? Gastelum gave Adesanya a good fight and went the distance. Costa is bigger and stronger than Gastelum.
Ad and Costa both went the distance and won over Yoel Romero.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Yeah, but if it goes the distance, there is zero chance Costa wins. Even if he wins all 5 rounds convincingly, he still loses given the bullsh!t judging that occurs in championship fights. Look at the ridiculous scores given for the Reyes-Jones fight. Costa has to knock him out to win which is a pretty tough task against a guy who moves as well as Izzy does.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Bold. May very well go that way with Iz. But, Costa is going to be stronger than Romero. So, if Iz is not afraid of Costa, it might be fun.
Costa is like George Foreman in a way. "Hit me three times while I'm coming in. I just need one."
I'll buy you a foty if Reyes loses.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I knew it. I owe OS. Jan is the real deal.
Izzy is the real deal, too. I didn't expect him to light up Costa like that based on his previous fights. Izzy had a game plan and went for the kill.

Yeah, kinda bummed that Reyes lost. He did the job against Jones, so thought it was BS that he wasn't champ already. Plus, I knew the loss would give that coke-fiend Jones some faux-validation for ducking the rematch.
As far as Costa goes, it seems that he had a rather unorthodox game plan going into this fight. I am guessing that his thinking went something like this:
Come on Paulo, you got this! With my unstoppable 5-step plan, there is no way I can lose! Just let me run through the steps one more time:
Step 1: Fidget with my nuts continuously during the walkout to the ring.
Step 2: Once the fight starts, make sure Izzy lands at least 20 unchecked leg kicks.
Step 3: Show little to no aggression, but throw in a few taunts for psychological warfare.
Step 4: Let Izzy punch me in the face until the ref calls off the fight.
Step 5: There is no step 5 because I am now the champ b!tches!!!
Wait a minute... Something doesn't feel right here. Maybe there is a problem with one of my steps. Well, I definitely remembered to include the step where I repeatedly fondle my beanbag on the way to the ring, so I should be good! There is no way I can lose!
So needless to say, I think that next time Paulo should come up with a different 5-step plan.It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Lol....Don't be an idiot.
What I said is true. He was afraid to get knocked out. That's why he didn't attack like he normally doesIt takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Not even close. If he had been a bull, it would have been a much more competitive fight (remember the Gastelum fight). Paolo was talking about being "patient" in this fight and trying to pace himself so that he didn't burn out after the first couple of rounds. However, the leg kicks probably took more out of him than he expected and so that strategy turned out to be moot, and he didn't have a plan B.
What coulda woulda shoulda happened is all speculation of course, but I still think your one round fantasy is still nonsense thoughIt takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Based on this comment, I am guessing you don't follow MMA much. It doesn't matter at this point. Fight is done and on the books, and I'm anxious to see what is next for both guys.
To be honest, I'd love it if Jones would put his HW ambitions on hold and fight Izzy first. Jones is the more well rounded fighter and could dominate if he took this to the ground. However, we all know Jones won't do this, so I think he'd lose a stand-up decision to Izzy. I think this is a much more compelling fight than Jones vs Stipe. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

That makes sense. Huge fight.
Exactly. Rumor is Jones is going to HW? He would have to go back down to fight Jan.
DC and Conor have done it. Not sure why Jones would relinquish a title unless he is planning to stay at HW.
Aside from that, the way Jan performed, he might have Jones's number. But, the Izzy fight is the big one.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.
