First of all, let this be a lesson to all you men. Be ready, be ahead of the curve, listen to that crazy conservative friend you had who has been telling you for years what you need to do.
That being said, that is an extremely difficult round. It is very powerful and a followup shot would be very hard. Also I think the penetration would be high.

Just lol if you dont own one of these, how are you going to survive the zombie apocalypse?
And 454 is good enough to defend yourself against aliens-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Walther PPQ is also a good bet. If you're looking for a 9 mm. My ole man has it - good for big hands.

It is better than nothing but it is probably one of the worst choices for a novice. You could load 45 long colt in it assuming you could find it. What type of ammo is the other consideration, if hardcast lead you will definitely over penetrate.
Is this person recoil sensitive? You could permanently scare them away from guns if they cant handle it. I would probably just sell my bro a gun and some ammo in a better caliber. From my personal armory.
Unless you live in bruin territory the gun really has no purpose beside fun. I debated buying the ruger toklat but decided my redhawk with 340 grain was enough
