Try working out at different times of the day to see when you're most alert.

Try finding something that motivates or inspires you.
Music, maybe pictures or video of some heavy training like strongman or powerlifting.
Get mental with those heavy sets.
Think of something like live or die situation to get the weight/set.
I only have coffee as a pre workout and that helps me.
    Good luck.

You could try just caffeine pills occasionally. That's my method these days. 2 30m before training maybe 2 sessions a week.

You could consume so much caffeine at all times that you have no sensitivity to it and waste your money on pre-workout. Not that I know anything about that...

I used to hammer so much caffeine I never felt a thing from it.. And thought it wasn't working any more. Physiologically that's not really true for caffeine.

Even if you don't 'feel' The caffeine buzz anymore cos you think you have developed a tollerence, you still actually get all the good performance benefits

Now, all I'll really do is. pop a couple of magic caffeine pills maybe one a week for sessions I think I want a boost for. Or maybe a monster cos... I like the white ultras lol

consume a good preworkout meal containing some complex carbs for energy. I like sweet potatoes or rice. You will have more energy to power through your lifts. At least that's my experience. And like someone mentioned, up your water intake.

Interesting... Sadly I don't think I could even know the difference because I am always caffeinated lol. Seriously I should probably stop doing this, but I drink several cups of coffee at work throughout the day and then still usually have an energy drink at lunch or on my commute home. I seldom buy preworkout, because when I do, I inevitably abuse it like a recreational drug.

Actually, I've been drinking at least a few cups of coffee just about every single day since I was twelve years old. I wonder if that's affected my brain development or caused me any problems? For the most part I feel like a healthy and normal person. Did you start heavily using caffeine as a kid also or is it a more recent thing?

I found that going to the gym within an hour of drinking coffee was a bit of a distraction, but after was much better and effective for endurance.

Espresso is denser in caffeine per volume but people I talk to tend to agree that 1 shot of espresso when pulled pretty light/short isn't really as strong. So just consider different sources maybe.
