https://news.microsoft.com/2020/09/2...sda-softworks/The planned acquisition includes publishing offices and development studios spanning the globe with over 2,300 employees, including Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios. Bethesda’s critically acclaimed and best-selling franchises include The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM, Quake, Wolfenstein, and Dishonored, among others.
that's pretty huge if those franchises would become Microsoft exclusives

I don't think there will be another Evil Within. I would buy the new xbox if they announced one tho.
Ghostwire looks extremely meh. Especially after losing the queen of horror herself, Ikumi Nakamura.
Also Fallout is ded. Anyone who buys a new fallout game after 76 is a complete retardDisclaimer: All posts made by [LtGoose] are works of satire. By reading this you agree to absolve the author of any and all liability.

Huge news. This is industry shaking.
And all their games on game pass day 1. Amazing value, especially with game prices going up to $70. Stock up before they bump up the price.
Pretty smart to announce this the day before xbox preorders go live lol.Last edited by ScramFranklin; 09-21-2020 at 07:47 AM.

MS is really different with that kinda ****. I mean they’re a much bigger company than Sony so they must have some data to suggest that what they’re doing is working well and making the most money they can. But still wild to see. They could put all these games out on all platforms and I wouldn’t even be surprised.SCC - Redskins - Wizards

I just never got the appeal of Elder Scrolls / Fallout, never been into them, not saying good/bad, just no appeal for me. All I know is that Bethesda got to a point where they became known for fukking over their customers.
I thought the direction they (ID) went with Doom III was excellent, not really feeling the story line in the new one and getting back to Bethesda, I didn't like the direction when ID and Bethesda were working together.
MS ruining stuff, best example is Halo, 343 is basically MS. Hopefully it will work out for the fans of these various titles, but as far as massive companies being acquired by even bigger companies, less competition, more uniform policies, i.e. micro transactions all over the place, raking customers over with chit policies, raking them over for money, etc... More recently, every time I hear video game I think scam.AP5 / PRO-Fap

They got Arkane Studios, one of the best ones out there .... Sony was playing scummy by having Deathloop be a timed exclusive and MS just lold and bought the entire damn company.
Bethesda may not be the best company out there, but they still make one of a kind games like Elder Scrolls/Fallout .... Those games sell a ton.Sig line can't be a novel

This is pretty huge for Microsoft. Fallout needs some TLC and Obsidian could help with that. But the big thing is the acquiring of The Elder Scrolls series. The Elder Scrolls 6 was supposed to go Head to Head with Avowed. Now we could very well see these both as exclusives instead of Avowed.
There's also Starfield which is slated to be one of the Newest AAA IP's Bethesda is releasing for the first time in years. I think we will start to see more and more of this from Microsoft. They have way more capital to do these kinds of things as opposed to Sony. Sony has their own IP's, but Microsoft went out and bought studios for new IP's and now is starting to buy established IP's from established companies.
I still think Microsoft will allow these games to be sold to Playstation, BUT they will be on the GamePass for free, and at the end of the day Microsoft will be pocketing Playstation owners money. Pretty genius move by Microsoft to be honest, because Bethesda Games always sell well. I think that Microsoft will allow Bethesda to utilize more of their tech (outside consoles) that is superior to Sony, and allow them to produce better games. Microsoft will allow these companies to be independent and do what they want, and it's a win-win for all gamers.
This does also push the argument for developers since at the end of the day, they need someone to sell the games to. With streaming becoming the next big thing, Bethesda might have been more comfortable with Microsoft's approach to streaming as opposed to Sony's, since Microsoft is light years ahead of Sony in that department, and Sony actually partnered with Microsoft to help them. I wonder if other developers will start to think the same way and see who they side with. Microsoft is about to launch their streaming service, so this could be huge.
I think Sony might win this generation of the console wars, but I think when the next gen is Microsoft, they will blow Sony out of the water as their streaming service will be one of if not the best of all of them.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

Yeah I see this as actually a good thing.
Bethesda started to lag behind in general. When they were at their peak gaming was different and they kinda had a thicker take on games around the oblivion era but have since been surpassed. Witcher and it’s clones essentially made Bethesda feel outdated and rudimentary. By today’s standards they are played out.
Microsoft has been kinda solid in their “delegations” lately. I esspecially look to the team they put together for Age of Empires 2 DE and turned it into the perfect remake and revived it to be an actively alive and monthly updated game with regularly changing metas and balance changes.
The whole outfit was professional. They chose the right people and they supported the project with the right amount of money.
So they are good at organizing this type of stuff.
This is good news.
