You finally get a shot after half your life training. You meet Dana, sign a contract, tell everyone you've ever met to watch the fight.
You spend weeks on pins and needles, can hardly sleep, but you are ready for your moment. Gotta capture it.
You can beat this 3rd world neanderthal brainlet. You got this. And then this happens in the first 15 seconds.

I get it, but then again, for a pro, I don't get it. What's the worse that is going to happen? You get knocked out? Anyone who has really trained has gotten knocked out at least a few times. It's not a fight to the death, the ref will stop it and as another pro fighter they aren't going to purposly try to kill you. Go into the fight you know you might lose.

Thread title reminds me of Jose Aldo
Aldo's situation was the worst because of how high profile the fight was, how much he hated Conor. He even hired a tall kickboxing champion to spar with. So much blood sweat and tears, being undefeated for a decade. then bam gone in 13 secoinds and the casual fans think he is a sh*t fighter

At the time of the fight and the months after wards the trolling was out of control. I used to go on his ******** and Instagram and every single comment was "13 seconds" and "p*ssy".
Nowadays people still make 13 second jokes but not as much. Kind of feel bad for Aldo, seeing him cry in the locker room was a sad sight

In my opinion Aldo was already showing serious signs of decline and wear/age when he fought Edgar in 2013. And he had many more wins in the 3 years after that. Mcgregors win over aldo was very entertaining and also probably the biggest win of his career - just like jones who really beat a lot of big names significantly past their time.
