Unless I see someone inside a car that needs help I am staying far away from any vehicle fire.
The post office had the most reliable vehicles of all time. Little engine powerhouses called the Grumman Long Life Vehicle that lasted 20-30 years of hard daily stop and go usage. I really want to buy one.
Unfortunately the windshield fluid line is above the fusebox which causes fires. 42 fires were reported in 2017 alone.

they're just 80's s10s with iron duke 4 cylinders. Far from the pinnacle of reliable. The usps dumping money on maintenance and repair make them reliable.
edit: it should be noted that the fieros in the 80s that used this motor also randomly caught fire due to the rods failing and the oil spurting onto the exhaust. Wouldn't surprise me if this happens sometimes on usps trucks as well.Last edited by rectifryer; 09-19-2020 at 04:19 PM.
