1. USA
1,12 million immigrants
332 milion population
0,33% of their population taken as immigrants every year
10. Sweden
132k immigrants
10,2 million population
1,29% of their population taken as immigrants every year
9. The Netherlands
141k immigrants
17,2 million population
0,82% of their population taken as immigrants every year
The USA takes WAY less immigrants in every year percentage wise then Sweden and the Netherlands. And that's just the first two from your list. Those are two western nations with universal healthcare that works well. So yeah, basically the same article you linked to destroyed your own argument.
To add to that. A lot of the LEGAL immigrants in the USA aren't "dirt poor" like you're describing in your "The intellectual elite lmao" OP which completely misses the mark.

US foreign born population is kind of funny. considering most people's parents or grand parents etc were born elsewhere anyway. The children of those foreign born population then become native. Its meaningless.
This isn't an argument against universal health care btw. Not sure why you think it does. Those people pay taxes too.Is there no limit to what people will believe if it is prefaced by the phrase,
"Scientists say" ?

We need to figure out something. The costs are astronomical. It’s also not a good thing to have people filing bankruptcy due to medical bills and then drive by these huge medical “cities” that are being built.
Wouldn't this mean that everyone just gets chitty care because you'd need a lot more doctors to see them? Or a waiting list that's like 10 years long?
You basically just said, “only people with money should see a doctor”.
I’m a right sided person on most issues but this one is not an easy answer.I would rather die than live my life in fear.- KSE

Two months is fast compared to Canada. Although people aren't proactive about it. Usually six months wait but if you simply call and ask for a cancellation slot they will do it within days.
We can also choose to pay in Quebec and get it the next day if we want.
And I gladly pay higher taxes to be able to not even worry about paying for treatment for serious illness. Having to worry about medical bankruptcy is ridiculous.

Universal healthcare is already a thing in the US. It's called medicare/medicaid/charity care.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

That’s insane. Will they push you through if it’s a life-saving need?
Also that’s nuts. 6 months. I tore my pec and all the docs said the sooner you fix it the better chance of success. I can’t imagine waiting 6 months to even get the results of if it’s torn or not, only to find out ive missed the window of best chances of fixing it properly.

No more than our tax burden, when you factor in how much more we pay for healthcare through insurance premiums, deductibles and out of pocket costs. We both (Americans and Europeans) end up with the same effective tax burden, only some of us get lucky and work for the government or generous companies that provide decent insurance for free.
The European way ends up being cheaper when you factor in the advantage of free preventative care. Making preventative care free is a huge savings overall.

Best argument against healthcare: too many immigrants
Argument gets destroyed completely
Yeah but taxes and the system is there doesn't work.
So I guess the real best argument is that it's too expensive? You backed up real quick there.
Also LOL @ "this thread is about the USA" when you're comparing it western countries in the OP. How do you get completely destroyed and then call the person who destroys you a retard.
20% VAT, up to 50% income tax. Yeah it's very expensive. I was just destroying OP's argument because I found it ironic that he's talking about "by far the best argument" and it's actually complete chit and untrue. It might or might not work in the USA but the relatively LOWER amount of yearly immigrants is not the reason why it wouldn't work.
Nobody is talking about illegals ODBM. Calm down.Last edited by Barteh; 09-19-2020 at 10:00 AM.

The US also spends more than the Netherlands and Sweden per capita which kinda ruins the it's too expensive argument too.

It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

Ouch. So not sure what arguments they would have left.
Quality? For the few rich who can afford it because accessibility for the general population is chit. Ironically we Europeans have access to the same quality of healthcare because if I'm rich enough and the best doctor in a certain field has a clinic in the USA. Guess what? I'm going there.

Welfare use varies among immigrant groups. Households headed by immigrants from Central America and Mexico (73 percent), the Caribbean (51 percent), and Africa (48 percent) have the highest overall welfare use. Those from East Asia (32 percent), Europe (26 percent), and South Asia (17 percent) have the lowest.
You have to remember, our whole immigration system is comprised of chain migration meaning it basically consists of who's one uncle is.
We also have upwards of 20 million illegals with another million coming in every year.
