I read that Tip O'Neal prayed with Reagan in the hospital after he was shot. It may be possible to be friends with someone on the other side of the aisle, but I don't think it's common.

It is normal if you are normal and not angry all the time. I have many conservatives in the family and we get along great; when they make the corny jokes, they just fall flat to silence.
No biggie and we move on doing family stuff.

I have seen and dealt with it in person, my younger stepdaughter who will be 38 this year has not spoken to me in almost 4 years, she is pissed that my wife and I voted for Trump and she refuses to let it go.

Have to say, the hatred coming out of the blue side is something like I have never seen. Many many red people were unhappy with Obama, but they went to work, and maybe b!tched a little, and then voted in the next election.

From day one (actually before that) the democrats have been trying to take down trump. There was even talk of a coup. Pushing what have proven to be false narratives about Russian collusion...etc. And what I see from people....holy crap! I see 'normal' people that I know that are democrats wishing death on republicans especially trump, almost daily.

Yet he is the first president in 39 years to not enter into a war or get the US into an armed conflict somewhere in the globe. Where is the Nobel peace prize?

I was very unhappy with Obama administration on MANY policy levels and never heard or saw the kind of hatred and prevalence of it from 'normal' people, as what people come to accept as 'normal' and acceptable behavior when expressing how you feel about trump.

Scalia was overweight and unhealthy. Ginsberg was fighting terminal cancer. Neither death is really shocking, but I wouldn't have wished it on either one of them.

If you are so determined to be respectful, how about her last wish that she not be replaced during this presidential term? There is, after all, precedent.
