Fats and proteins are the ONLY essential macronutrients. You can't live without them.

And anyone who tells you that "protein = protein" is a complete ****ing idiot. Virtually every culture globally that has had to rely on grains has resulted in small and weak people. On the flipside; the biggest and strongest people on the planet come from places like Iceland where cold climate and fertile hunting meant huge supply and reliance on fish, meat, dairy and animal fats. The Chinese went through decades eating only rice due to famine and poverty...we saw what that produced. Grains and legumes are literally peasant foods. This was known all throughout history, hence why in the medieval times the royalty got their meat and mutton whereas the peasants had to survive on whatever **** grains they could get their hands on.

are we talking in terms of intake? carbs and proteins should be on the high end and fats should be low-medium intake. carbs and protein are much more important for performance and health when fat requirements are met, after fat requirements are met its basically useless.. protein is used for everything in our body and carbs are proven to increase performance and spare muscle

No offense, but I have a few points to make.

-Maybe you have 'touched a weight' but you are doing some kind of physical training. Either that or you're lying.
-Your a small framed guy. Judging from proportions I'd guess 5'5-5'6. I'm guessing at 135ish pounds. Your protein intake doesn't need to be high to maintain that size.

Check back in when you are that lean at 185-200lbs and can actually fill out a large t shirt. You would likely need to eat in excess of 200G of protein per day for years.

I remember reading Mike Mentzers book about nutrition and he only ate 60g a day, argued that a 20 lbs gain over a year works out to be a few grams protein per day
For example, if an individual were to increase his muscle mass by an impressive 20 pounds (9.09 kg) in one year, that would amount to about 2,000 grams of assimilated net muscle protein. (Each pound of muscle at 454 g is about 22 percent protein, and .22 X 454 = 99.8 g protein.) Averaged out over the course of a year, the 2,000 g would amount to only an additional 5.5 g of protein above daily maintenance requirements. This viewpoint is supported by Durnin who estimated this figure to be 7 g/day (1978). In contrast, Brotherhood (1984) cites research which indicates that the estimated value for lean body mass gains may exceed 50 g/day during aggressive muscle building programs.
Of course you have to factor in daily maintenance and repairing the damage done by lifting. Depending on that number, its possible that protein needs are overstated by the industry
