Disagree massively. I see the absolute best results when protein is massively high. Appetite is good, strength explodes, muscle mass increases and bodyfat seems to decrease. It keeps me tight full and strong.

Pic taken yesterday. Better results on natty x super high protein than bike ride bodyweight protein srs

There's no dietary requirement for saturated fat because your body produces all that it needs.

You must be referring to monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.

In that case, we're on the same page.

Best gains, feeling, and shape of my life....macros were

    370-400g protein
    130-150g fat
    0-20g carbs

And I was making gains squatting 3x/week.

Lol at thinking you even need carbs on a regular/daily basis.

I really don't understand these numerous diets you guys put yourselves through, "fat adapted"?

Also, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you choose to eat high protein because it's what you're used to eating.

When It's not a hobby anymore and you want to be better than the best at what you do, you'll notice you'll start to fine-tune your diet for maximum performance. But by then you'll already be knowledgeable about what foods promote your lifestyle.

This isn't a hobby for me, I'm already there.

Also, don't sleep on gut health, which translates to brain health, which translates to mood, which translates to sleep, recovery, and even goals.

You can triple down on your training, sleep, recovery, and mental clarity through proper nutrition.

A lot of us just want to be lazy and eat what we've been fed/told to eat for the rest of our lives because it's comfortable and tastes good.

If you ever take anything seriously in life, you'll know what I mean.

Vegans can't even wrap their head around the fact that even herbivorous mammals derive their energy from SATURATED FATS, not carbs/sugars. Their complex and massive bacteria filled alkaline digestive systems take in all that plant matter that they consume and ferment that into saturated fats, which are THEN used as energy. A human being does not have the digestive system to complete these processes, hence why heavy consumption of plant matter results in digestive problems...in the worst case Celiac disorder. When you eat a lot of beans and you get gassy and start farting everywhere...that is INDIGESTION. You get gassy because your digestive system is trying to do something its not even equipped to do well. Like ALL carnivorous based Apex-predators, a human's digestive system is SMALL and extremely acidic. Stomach acidity does absolutely nothing in terms of breaking down plant matter - in fact its actually counterintuitive because it KILLS the bacteria that cows, gorillas, etc. rely on to convert grass and leaves into energy. Acidity on the other hand DOES break down animal flesh and fats, and it also kills the pathogens and harmful viruses/bacteria that go along with consuming other animals. So whereas a gorilla ferments and converts leaves into saturated fats, the carnivorous human is built to hunt and ingest saturated fats directly from other animals. There is no other reason for your stomach to be extremely acidic as it is actually very taxing to maintain an acidic digestive environment. Nature didn't go through that much trouble for no reason.

IIRC you dont know much about nutrition/science so ill try to laymen it for you.

Carbohydrates main purpose -> glucose --> ATP (essential energy fuel for humans)

Removing carbs kickstarts gluconeogenesis and ketogenesis (glucose and ketone production from proteins and other compounds instead of carbs) ---> ATP

After gluconeogenesis is no longer viable your body increases using ketones to produce ATP

    Therefore...

Remove Carbs and body can relatively sustain itself

Removing proteins would result in depletion of amino acids (protein building blocks) essential for survival functions that the body cant create on its own

Removing fats would have even worse results (see: phospholipid bilayer, cholesterol, micelle and chylomicron transport, chronic brain diseases)

Thats why epileptic patients are sometimes prescribed low carb/keto diets for treatment and live to normal ages

I do agree with you about the animal protein opinion to a certain degree

this is correct and illustrates why you are massively incorrect on any physiological scale

The fire did not come first. We were supplementing our omnivorous diets with raw plant-based sources and fruits with only a little amount of animal protein and fat needing to supplement our predominantly plant-based diet.

Do you think we just tore into animal flesh daily? That was a delicacy, just like candy. Our brains did not develop from eating raw meat. It was until we finally discovered fire and cooked our food was when brain development occurred.

Also you explain another argument perfectly in your 2nd paragraph. The rich were able to eat what they wanted, and the poor had to scavenge. In other news, the sky is blue and grass is green.

Our early ancestors did the dirty work, we developed as a species. Go back to eating raw meat and stop being a hypocrite if you want to be like your ancestors

    Anyone else?
to a degree the above refutes this wall of text. But also keep in mind:
we MAY HAVE had more sophisticated structures that are now vestigial to deal with harmful bacteria (appendix, tonsils)
Those strains of bacteria may not have existed back then or be as deadly as they are now

More importantly Humans specifically evolved to HUNT. We are hands down the best at dumping heat from long distance running (chase prey till it dies of heat exhaustion in africa) and we can throw objects further and harder than any other species (spears to kill larger prey)

Finally our entire stomach is acidic suggesting meat eating habits with the subsequent structures alkaline secreting to balance out the intense acid of the stomach.

All of this evidence very clearly points to the importance of meat eating in the human diet.

    I haven't touched a weight in over 3 years.

I get all of my calories from carbohydrates and fat.

The pic in my avi was taken over 3 years ago when I was lifting weights and getting most of my calories from beef, chicken, steak, eggs, whey, etc. you name it.

    I took this picture today

I'm not impressive at all, but don't give into that protein hype.

Imagine if I started lifting and eating in a surplus again. You bruhs would think im on gear.

My friend that i hired to take over my nutrition the last 10 months or so

Voodoo. Haaha honestly nothing too complicated. At the peak of my bulk we were at 4900 cals.

60g fat (plus trace fats from cereal and stuff)
    315g protein
    775 carbs

The biggest thing he changed was keeping fats out of the carb meals. Protein was spread pretty much even across 4-5 meals. carbs were only in first meal (300g), 100 grams intra workout, and the rest were all post workout.

In a cut, pretty much the exact same, but with all the carbs in intra and post workout

Just about done with the cut and still at 2320 off days and 2695 training days, no cardio

I’ve always felt best gym wise when I ate more steak, salmon etc. than when not.
    Steak/fatty fish is GOAT food.

Not getting quality protein aka quality meat, isn’t good for you.

AMA I definitely notice a huge difference on high protein intake due to the increased protein synthesis I get as a benefit of being on the gear
