yeah even when i was in school they had soda machines everywhere in the schools because they paid big money to put them there and now the school district was dependent on them. i mean they were paying like 100k or something in the late 90s to put them in and when you think about it, that was not 100k for the right to sell sodas for 50 cents each, that was 100k to normalize a generation to drinking soda on a daily basis.
also school lunch was usually groce super greasy pizzas. they were right to try to remove chocolate milk (with added sugar) from school lunches and try to fix them. but the damage is done and its too late, i mean now you can even have mcdonalds delivered to your door through an app and not even have to talk to a human being.

I assume you have access to google, but just to get you started how about:
1) Metabolization
2) Thermic Effect
3) Effect on blood sugar
4) Satiety
5) Effects on Appetite
6) Glycemic index and insulin
there are hundreds of studies proving this.

"Calorie content" is measured from the energy released when burned in a bomb calorimeter. So its technically correct to say a calorie is a calorie from a thermodynamic prospective. That, however, completely ignores we are not bomb calorimeters and have complex digestion and hormones regulating appetite and that we don't convert a carrot into white hot flame.

Because people don’t work out regularly and they think a work out is a 1 mile walk/jog, which might be good for regulating blood pressure and keeping joints in good shape, but that barely burns 50 calories
Also sugar in basically everything. The only people who stay thin these days tend to be those who don’t drink and anything they do drink is sugar free

the education is not provided. which it should be in highschool. the average person doesn't even know what a calorie is. they don't know that excess calories = fat gain. all the government provides are these dumb food group tables and portions. i didn't know anything about macronutrients or calories until I started going to the gym, which was around age 23.
my understanding of why the government doesn't want to educate the masses is because idk... some sort of mass mental health problem due to people being paranoid of calories. not sure. There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Calorie is a calorie end of fooking story
The reason people get fat from sugar is because its not satiating, no micros, no fiber and it makes you more hungry so by default you eat more calories, the reason people lose lots of weight on low carb is because fat is more satiating than carbs so you eat less by default also a lot of the weight loss is water weight, it’s been proven over and over and OVER again
I’ve gotten to 9%bf eating 300g carbs, so is a lot of people, fukk this carbs and sugar are bad bullchit, get your micros and fiber in and you’re good*Cold shower crew*

it never was. and people remained slim. and without excessive exercise like is promoted today. people got fat when the new types of processed food became available, which all include a ton of sugar. and people stopped eating real food.
it has nothing to do with calories. calories were never counted before and society never had issues. the term calories are equal is used to push selling these processed junk foods. to make them seem like they are ok to eat. that all calories are equal and the same. which they are not. refined sugar in these fake foods in reality is a slow poison. which also leads to disease and obesity but herp derp. it's all about calories - not srs.
it's all in the previous videoLast edited by AWillis; 09-18-2020 at 11:27 AM.

I see this happen with many people my age +, mostly females
In highschool and college they played sports and were very active. Group trainings daily, lots of cardio, etc. Burning thousands of calories/day so they ate whatever they wanted. Fast food, etc. But didn't get fat becasue of how active they were.
Then suddenly all that activity stops but eating habits remain the same and the pounds start packing on. Especially with office workers.
The people that took care of themselves when younger seem to still take care of themselves as they get older and it shows.
It's too normalized that people just get fat with age. "it's normal hehe"

Yes, the low fat craze plus all the artificial sweetener crap. If I'm going to have a snack it gonna be full fat/full sugar. The difference is I only do it about once a week, not every day.
Yep, I think you hit the nail on the head. Fast food for us when I was young was very rare, as was drinking soda. Having McDonalds or Burger King was a treat, not an every day or even weekly thing. Soda was maybe once a week. Even now I'm not into drinking my calories, whether that's fancy coffees, soda or alcohol. I drink water all day every day. I'd much rather eat my cals.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

The amount of misinformation about calories and sugar ITT was disturbing
Sugar does not make you fat nor does it cause diabetes; common misconception
People are overweight because they eat too many calories, most of you overestimate your TDEE significantly, especially women who require less calories pound for pound.*Tolerance is the lube that slides the dildo of dysfunction into the ass of civilized society*
