    Fat or Thick abs?

    Hi People

    Im new to this forum so nice to meet you all.
    I’ll get straight to it, I have a question regarding my stomach or abdominals area.

    My Abs stick out like im fat but my body fat percentage is about 25-30%. One time i even cut down to 12% and my tummy still looked bloated.

    If tense my abs they still stick out. I can only think this would be due to the thickness of the abdominal area or it could be a medical issue, i dont know. Any help would be appreciated.

    Could be visceral fat.

    Stomach girth is always down to fat one way or another. Rectus abdominus are a flat sheet of muscle and they can hypertrophy but never stick out that much.

    Can also be exaggerated by posture.

    Looks like you are pushing out somewhat.

    But yeah, it's fat, not posture. The proportions will start to look a bit better when you gain some muscle but at some point you will have to diet. Don't be in a rush to do this because many people fall into the trap of just getting far too skinny and weak by constantly dieting - as mentioned, you will look a lot better when lean with some muscle already built.

    You need to also train your core, as Suffolk was saying. Your TA will pull all of that in, the leaner you get. It looks like you are pushing out completely, need to learn how to control the muscles in your actual core... https://youtu.be/dvsQKxndqBI check how I can make myself look like you and also watch how I can tighten my core, When you can learn to do this. Your stomach will not look so big.

    It also looks like you carry most of it in your belly. Looking at your arms alone, I wouldn't assume 25-30%.
