Big downside to buying digital is the fact that you cannot resell games. Often times ill buy a new game day 1 for $60 play it for 7ish days beat it and then sell it back for $50. Obviously this is for those single player games that you know you will never replay again (i rarely replay single player games).

I always buy pre-order the ones I want on sale, and resell them at cost or sometime even at profit.

I pre-ordered both a disc and a digital console, not sure which one Im gonna keep yet. If more people buys the digital one because it's cheaper, then reselling a used game will be harder.

Managed to snag a PS5 disc version from Best.

$100 more to have a 4k blu ray player + ability to play ps4 disc games...yes pls.

Why's everyone in a hurry to get these at launch? What perks you get vs getting it a month later?

Look at the nintendo switch situation. Its almost impossible to find at retail price because of scalpers and thats a 3 year old console.

Its better to get it while you can. You might not gain anything by getting it at launch, but you dont lose anything either. THis will be tough to find for many waiting

I was expecting a $50 difference for the optical drive, $100 is more than I thought it would be.

at only $50 theres no point in buying digital only. You may as well get the full thing for an extra $50 bucks.

People laugh at gamestop, but I've consistently traded in games for nearly half price back months after I finally finish the game. Its such an easy way to save on new games. Do that with the two launch games and you've basically made up the extra cost of the disc version

sony purposely has less of the digital cause they know people will settle for the more expensive one if need be. At least the early adopters

More power too them. Possibly I am just jealous I am not as rich but I feel like overpaying just $1 at this point is pretty insane. It's not like it's sold out forever at this point. Even pre-order stock will come and go many times between now and launch, I am not the type to overpay on anything but if I were I'd at least wait till post launch.

That went as well as I expected. No luck online.

Stopped by local gamestops and got my name on a list for next batch of preorders. Store managers were both mad... they had made preparations for todays pre-order rush and got calls from corporate mid-day yesterday to go ahead and sell what they had. Had to tell all the people who showed up early this morning they were out of luck.

The earth shattering games aren't there day 1 while the somewhat notable ones will be on PS4 anyway.

A PS5 PRO will come out down the line too.

People are rushing in and slapping down $$$ for a pet rock.

I mean for people who enjoy videogames why would they want to play a game on PS4 when the PS5 has over twice the power to make the experience that much better? Casuals who jump on fortnite for an hour once a week aren't the ones trying to pre-order.

I'm not seeing the big difference. This Spiderman game will look just fine on the PS4. Demon Souls has been played before as has the DMC5 game.

Just seems at this moment in time the PS5 it not worth the effort to acquire. But you are talking to someone who has a backlog from PS3 I still have to play. I sit a year behind and buy my games at $5-$10 a pop. I don't find my experience hampered at all. My PC is capable if I just have to play something newer and my GTX 1070 seems...good enough.
