    Exertion Headaches from bare minimum

Hello, I recently started lifting about two weeks ago and all of a sudden I started getting exertion headaches right when I start my workout. I'm not going crazy heavy or anything so I'm really confused why it's happening. Even just now I started doing pushups and after like 8 my head just started pounding. I did start taking a protein powder that contains creatine about a week ago so maybe that could be causing it? This is getting really frustrating so if anyone has any idea what could be causing it please let me know.

Exertion headaches typically happen due to not breathing well and using the valsalva maneuver hard. Is it possible you are not breathing well? Sometimes after getting one you need to fully rest from anything that exacerbates it for a couple of weeks before it goes away completely, otherwise it will keep coming back which may be what is happening to you.

You could try taking an Advil, Alleve, etc. If they continue, see a doctor to make sure there's not a more serious underlying issue causing it.

This. I actually used to get migraines every single time I lifted before I learned to breathe properly. Stop doing the Valsalva maneuver for awhile (breathing against a closed airway).
