Older games are just better in every way besides the graphics. They played better and had more fun factor back then.

Used to spoilt for choice of good games in the 90s and 2000s, but as you said the focus on graohics and other chit just seemed to have put the fun factor in the background

Turn based games offered an almost surreal, book like experience. It's gonna be a while before we hit something like that again.

Modern rpgs have thousands and thousands of lines of dialogue for just a minimum amount of choice.

I feel like developers have really underestimated the immersiveness of choice vs environmental elements.
