xbox has a lot better physical design.
same chips at faster speeds, smaller box with a single giant fan. bigger fan = move more air at same speed = quieter
MS focused on making it work and keeping it simple. PS5 is gigantic and looks like trash
im cucked by sony though, all my chit is already on ps4 so basically stuck with ps5.

You realize people buying consoles don't give a fuk?
$500 for a video card or just buy a $500 box that will last you 5+ years with no need to upgrade
Warzone still runs on my 2013 Xbox which is crazy because those Xboxes released underpowered out the gate.
Just built a PC for $650ish with a 5600xt, I expect the Series X at $500 to run just as fast or faster than my PC due to the crazy optimizations consoles getFuture P.A in progress
We're all gonna make it

Yea I played rdr2 on my xbox one s, not even the x, but just like 1-2 teraflops one(I think X one is close to 5 TF) and that game looked good enough for me(much nicer then anything else I played on it). I'll probably buy a next gen console, price for performance is really good. I payed over 300+ for my gpu previous year(it's still close to 400 now even with the 2060s+ and upcoming ones) and when you compare it to the other cards it's like bottom tier(1660 ti)? I saw Steam statistics and the highest % of gpu being used was the 1060(I think it was like 12%) though. All these games look good enough for me this gen and upcoming one on the consoles.
If I had the money to spare, I'd probably go PC+PS5. That gamepass pc is really good if I didn't have an xbox. Has the type of games that I like, Gears 5, Forza H4, Crusader Kings 3, Hearts of Iron 4, Europa 4, Age of Empires 2/3 DE.Last edited by OttomanEmpire; 09-12-2020 at 03:42 PM.

In, hopefully Sony finally gives us something and a nice surprise or two. MS been slaughtering them.
Ugliest console ever made. Painting mine black before I turn it on for the first time. Design choice is bad enough, but whoever chose white needs to be fired.
Brah, the PS5 is fawking humongous. If that thing can't stay cool then Sony engineers on that potato time.
LoL@ PC Gamers thinking console gamers care about their GPU power.
Sony badly needs to give info here. The fact it's taking so long is bad news. MS is slaughtering them in every aspect leading up to this launch outside of software.

Agreed that they should be. However the only news I've heard on the matter is a statement from a Sony official that the top 100 PS4 games would be backwards compatible, with no mention of games that might lie outside of that.

I'm guessing they'll show the Horizon Zero Dawn sequel, hopefully some Demon's Soul remake, and Spiderman is practically assured being a launch title.
There's also Ratchet & Clank, Deathloop has a timed exclusivity agreement for PS5 + PC, so they might show that, and same with Godfall, which has been pushing out its own short videos recently:
Really hoping we don't see too much of that next gen; that is an obscene amount of motion blur and particle effects to the point it's hard to tell what the hell is going on.
You should be set.
It's hard to track down, but I recalled how Sony updated the "top 100 titles" later on. From the Playstation blog:
"UPDATE: A quick update on backward compatibility – With all of the amazing games in PS4’s catalog, we’ve devoted significant efforts to enable our fans to play their favorites on PS5. We believe that the overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 titles will be playable on PS5.
We’re expecting backward compatible titles will run at a boosted frequency on PS5 so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions. We’re currently evaluating games on a title-by-title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers.
In his presentation, Mark Cerny provided a snapshot into the Top 100 most-played PS4 titles, demonstrating how well our backward compatibility efforts are going. We have already tested hundreds of titles and are preparing to test thousands more as we move toward launch. We will provide updates on backward compatibility, along with much more PS5 news, in the months ahead. Stay tuned!"
Without a dog in this race, Sony really dropped the ball on marketing this generation, and this is another example of how they failed to instill confidence in BC like Microsoft did.
Playstation Now is basically Sony's answer to backwards compatibility beyond the PS4, but they have done nothing to sell it as a proper competitor to Microsoft's services.
Similar to the BC situation, Sony's approach to current-to-next-gen upgrades has also paled compared to Microsoft's very clear cut stance.
With the Xbox pricing out in the open alongside their Game Pass service deal, Sony needs some extra draw for their system because even undercutting the Xbox Series X might not be enough to counteract the service side of things.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
