    continue to slow bulk? 170lbs 5'11" 24y

    A bit conflicted. About 6 months into a bulk from 162lbs -> 175lbs. Still feel pretty small/skinny fat, but I think my lifts aren't half bad. All 1x4 maxs:

    deadlift: 365lbs
    bench: 180lbs
    squat: 260lbs

    TBH, I could've done better with my bulk. Had several stalls on a traditional 3x5 beginner routine and wasn't really doing anything about it other than lowering weight again and trying to build back up. Was always feeling extremely worn out and like I was not recovering well, despite decent sleep and decent diet.

    Recently I switched to an Madcow 5x5 12 week intermediate program, and my body feels infinitely better and I feel I can actually recover from workouts now. I think I'm pretty juiced out of linear gains every workout, which unfortunately caused me to sort of spin my wheels a bit while not making significant progress on my squat/bench. Again, I wasn't really putting in as much effort as I should have and I really should have switched to a weekly progression routine like madcow awhile ago tbh.

    So -- should I continue my bulk? I was thinking that because I'm at the start of a 12 week madcow cycle that I could just try to finish that first, make some decent strength gains while gaining about 5-6lbs and then cutting afterward. Does that make sense, or should I just drop that and start cutting now?

    Still lean enough to bulk IMO, finish this run of Madcow and then see where you are then.

    got it, rep'd. Thanks man. Was leaning toward finishing this run of Madcow but figured I'd get some additional insight. Also -- I'm actually 175lbs, not 170lbs like I have in my title. Don't think it should change much but ye

    OK, thanks. Do you have any ballpark estimate on what my bodyfat % could be? I'd guess myself probably around 20%, but it'd b cool to know what ya think.

    I'd guess under 20% for sure. Is that a third leg there?
