I sold my Shelby GT350R about 6 months ago. Right after it sold, I found out I had the opportunity to work in Germany again. I wish I would've kept the Shelby because it would've been a great car for the roads here. I ordered a M2 CS and it finally arrived last week. I wanted something small, fast/fun, but still practical enough for a DD. The M2 fits that bill for now. I decided to get the DCT instead of the manual, because I haven't heard great things about the clutch feel and shifter BMW uses in the M2.

Congrats! Welcome to the S55 family. Now do yourself a favor and order the equal length midpipe from Active so it doesn't sound like hot garbage and more like an inline 6 should.
Does the M2 use a different clutch setup than my F80? I didn't think so and I've never heard anything bad about it.

I think both the Shelby and M2 are close when it comes to fun, but the Shelby easily has the better sound and it has more grip. The M2's build quality is better and feels quicker on the street because it makes more power down low than the GT350's voodoo engine. The M2 is more agile and lively while the GT350R feels more serious and track focused.
Thanks. I'm thinking about getting the Akrapovic system but I'll wait until it's almost Spring to make a purchase so I have time to research what I want. It definitely needs an exhaust. I'm not sure if the M2's clutch is the same as your F80, I just read a few posts on bimmerpost about people complaining about the engagement point and spongy feel of the shifter. I wanted to get a demo drive in a manual M2 Competition before ordering the CS, but the closest demo was 4 hours away so I just went with the DCT. The color is Hockenheim silver.

Agreed, I literally hated the sound of a stock engine, no matter what expensive exhaust you threw on it it still had the hideous 2 3-cyl engine note
This is non-resonated paired with a titanium muffler which is not the best combo, resonated pipes will make it sound cleaner but none were available in the pre-production run that sold out in under 2 minutes.

Thing is so ****ing sick. I got the manual tho, and its been a dream so far.
Was really digging the CS, but for $20k more than the C, wasnt worth it to me.
