Can someone help me make a routine?

Hey guys trying to get back into lifting again, the thing is I'm confused about what goals I am trying to accomplish. I know what I want to accomplish but the routine sets is what I'm confused about. I am 6'2 and 240 but my BF has to be about 25% now I haven't really been lifting for a good 5 years. I don't even know anymore what I should be aiming toward, all I want to do is lose BF and build strength back up, but should I be bulking since 240 isn't much at my height and THAN cut? I'm just so confused right now with what I should be aiming for. I can do my old routines again to get my bench numbers up but will getting stronger again do anything to help me lose my BF% hopefully this makes sense what I am trying to say. I don't want to lift for mass if it's just gonna add on more BF or will it? Will it help reduce it? I guess that's my question. Please help me out, and I lift at home with my own weight equipment so any compounds and isolations I can mostly do.

If you start bulking at 25 percent you will end up being obese. Get down to 12-15% before bulking. I would do Fierce 5 novice and aim to lose 1-2 lbs per week. You'll basically recomp since you've been off for so long.

Thank you! This is why I had to check, what do you recommend for sets and reps? I will look into the Fierce 5 program but if I could just go back to my old routine and tweak the sets and reps that'd be much easier for me but I will look into that F5 program and decide if it's easier to just revamp to a new routine.

Its easier to just jump on a proven program like F5 because it utilizes all rep ranges and has built in progression, resets and de-loading. The Fierce 5 comprehensive thread has a novice full body, intermediate upper/lower and advanced LULPP. If you work your way through those programs you'll get great results.

Hey I looked at the program, and it looks pretty good the only problem is I work out at home and plan to work at home only so is there a way the F5 program could be altered to be accustomed to that. I have my weight bench, and can adjust it incline and decline but pretty limited with no access to machines.

All Pros might be a better option as that only uses a barbell.

You may have learn to clean the bar from the floor and do front squats.

You don't need machines to do F5. Look at the sub list.

    All pros is also fine.

As far as ease of use and following a program I've really enjoyed Kris Gethin's programs. You can use the Kaged Muscle app on your phone too and it makes it TOO easy. I'd maybe start with the 12 Week Lean Muscle Trainer, but obviously up to you:

And his programs are not free, I assume

What are the odds his programs are doable with nothing but a bench and no machines? Stop pimping those programs which require people to sign up for his dumb ads and spam lists.
