Cause the Mavs have a young strong core in KP and Doncic who are good shooters/defenders, just the help that Giannis needs to start a dynasty. Mavs are loaded with shooters in THJ, Curry, Brunson. We have a promising young slasher in Trey Burke (hopefully we offer him a contract) Also, Mavs got robbed in the series w/ Clippers by the refs lmao. Curry you could make a case for as his offensive impact on a team is other worldly. Curry isn't as bad as a defender as people think. He's good at poking around for steals, plays decent team defense, is strong for his size. Just not the quickest and most athletic guy and gives up a lot of size so his impact is limited anyways.
You could certain pick guards who are a lot worse at defense like Damian Lillard, Trey Young, Jamal Murray, etc. I'd say he's above average team defense wise and below average man on manpositivity brah crew
