In desperate need of help - supplements for boosting energy and immune system?

    Hello all, newbie here.

Quick info, in case it's relevant:

I'm 32 and the wife is 30, we both work desk jobs where we essentially are just sitting all day. Been at it like this for 10 plus years. We have a one and a half year old son who still will not sleep through the night and thus we have not gotten solid sleep for a very long time.

Diet is not good, not bad. No fast food, no sodas or sugary drinks, but we're not over here making sure we balance our proteins and veggies and such. We don't exercise. We're not against it, just have difficulty finding the time. Thankfully we're not prone to excessive weight gain, I'd say I'm about average body type at 160ish at 5'8 and wife is on the smaller side at 105ish at 5'3.

Last winter was a bad one for us. We both got sick multiple times and my wife, who historically doesn't get bad colds typically, had some bed-ridden type viruses (not covid, we'd checked) more than once. We think our immune systems have probably really been weakened from not getting good sleep and just general degradation of our bodies from being pretty inactive over the years. We are both constantly fatigued and really want to avoid a repeat of last year.

    So onto my question:

Are there any supplements that we can be taking to help boost our energy? Also any supplements to boost our immune system, but like I said above, I think the poor immunity comes from not getting good sleep/having no energy, but you guys probably no better than me.

    Thank you all.

Not getting enough sleep is definitely going to impact immune and overall energy. The obvious answer is sleep but I know how hard it can be with a newborn.

The best supplement I have used to counteract less sleep was Rhodiola Rosea. It needs to be at least 3% Rosavins and 1% Salidrosides. Try 600mg-1g every morning. It doesn’t give you energy, it helps your body respond to stresses etc. Does give a little immune boost as well.

And Tinofend is the best immune booster I know of.

Blood panels have become inexpensive. If you can have a doctor write one to test your hormones and for any nutritional deficiency, that would be a start. If not, you can get these online cheap. I'd start there, preferably with the advice of medical professionals. There are several deficiency that could occur from living indoor. You could have a number of deficiencies, such as Vitamin D, which is common.

Have you guys thought about incorporating an at home daily workout? Try it for 20 minutes a day, this will boost your immunity and overall wellbeing. Caffeine will also make a noticeable difference in your energy levels along with some Vitamin D and C.

Im not sure if you guys use caffeine daily, but 150 milligrams will provide you with a nice boost of energy and alertness. 2000 IU of Vitamin D and 500 mg of Vitamin C will also help boost your immune systems.

Good Luck to the both of you

I'll echo some of the above with Rhodiola, C and D.

I'll add that I've found a beet supplement like EVL BeetMode is nice to sip during the day for lasting energy.

On top of all of the above I would try and work on your nutrition as well. Not that you have to clean it up 100% but try and add more fruits and vegetables and try and make as regular of a schedule for yourselves at home as possible to maybe sneak in some better sleep.
