My ex wife has contacted me once a month over the last 12 months. Usually about how she misses "the family", "I don't know what's wrong with me", "I'm sorry I blamed you for [fill in blank with any of her past resentments]," etc.

Know how i m doing with life
To recon if i have someone
To do a recon if i still think about them
And the usually “i miss you and the times we did this and that”

Imo they just do:

-when someone dump them or they are on that week of the month when they need attention when they have no one to truly connect with.

Either way, if i respond i know my place.

My ex sent me money to my Revolut, sent me a birthday card (signed for) and reacts to my Instagram stories. I’m very open with anything and my bf can use my phone/ipad whenever. I recently moved house and cancelled my Revolut. He has cut down on social media stalking but it’s so damn strange, had to warn my bf about him should my ex find a way to contact me again

Yep, and that’s when NC really becomes sweet revenge without even trying to seek it. Nothing better than letting them learn to live with the failure of their decisions, and for them to know that you’re no longer an option, nor care anything about them or what they have going on and that they have to stand alone in life. Meanwhile they see that you’re perfectly happy and living a better life without them.
