I was going to get the Asus Strix 3090 as soon as it dropped but at this rate I'm just going to wait for the 4K monitor I want to come out. And then I'll buy the best factory overclocked 3090 then.

The predator x27 is a 4k 144hz HDR Gync with Quantum Dot and fast Response Time. I got that **** forever ago.

If your looking for something bigger or an Oled, you can now buy an LG tv @ 48".
Personally i have a 65" c9 that i will use with the hdmi 2.1 thats coming on the 3090.

Point is, there is nothing really to wait for the technology is out there. Maybe your waiting for a price drop?>

Sooo... I'm upset about the sli situation. Apparently only the 3090 will have the teeth to connect nvlink bridge. This is truely the end of sli.
Why would devs spend any time at all on multi gpu support if literally 99.999 percent will not have this new type of ultra high end config goin forward.

At least now with the 2xxx series, sli has SOME support. The 3xxx series and onward will pretty much kill sli completely and it will only be used for e-brag on 3D Mark and thats it

Devs haven't gave a **** about SLI optimization for yearsss.
The only people using SLI anymore are benchmark boys or people who need the horsepower for editing, 3D modeling, etc.

Yes but I was able to play a lot of big titles with sli. It was awesome maxing out GTA @ 4k with a ton of mods because it supported sli.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Far Cry 5 were more recent examples of good games that had fantastic sli support. It really did make a big difference in my fps with the 2x 2080tis.
I know it's been a running joke that sli is dead, but it's been overstated to make a point about limited support.

In for buying overpriced card and playing Mine craft/games from 5 years ago/emulators on it again cos most new games are chit tier. My 2080ti was the biggest buyers remorse ever after going from a 1080ti.

But.. I'm an elitist moron, so I'll prob buy the 3090.... install a new RTX game, "this looks awesome!", play 1 hour, uninstall.... boot up Terraria/Guild Wars 1.

agreed. Games gotta keep up. Flight sim, cyberpunk, rtx minecraft are what I'm looking forward to at the moment. Gave up on halo 6.

i run a 1070 in my laptop but I don't travel for work as much as I used to so i'm gonna build a PC and probably just get the 3070/3080 because that 3090 is gonna be like 2 grand

My 2080Ti is destroying everything I play at 3440X1440 with zero issues, so I dont have a real reason to upgrade. IF the 3090, or whatever it ends up being called, is at least 30% more powerful I'll probably be tempted to buy just to say I have the best again. If we're only talking 20% I doubt I'll bother.

I need that hdmi 2.1 for my CX tho

Otherwise I'd skip this gen and hang onto my 2080ti

I wish you bought the c9 instead... I waited for the cx to drop and then heard that it doesnt support the full hdmi 2.1 bandwidth so i ended up buying the c9. It's disappointing that LG did this

4K@120 10 bit 4:4:4 is fine for me.

Edit, aren't they both 10 bit panels? I use my 48" as a giant work monitor but also for gaming , gotta say the 120hz at 4:2:0 looks like chit so that's kind of pointless on this TV

I was able to sell my ftw3 hydro for 1300 on ebay. Yes there are some fees involved but the true cost to upgrade is very minimal and totally worth it

The cost pisses me off, NGL. I got my 2080ti last month and I hate that nvidia is like apple and sells products at the same price until a new one comes out. Annoying that I paid the same for my card that someone who bought one at launch did

But at least that kept up the price for resale

Almost making it an absolute certainty that a slightly less powerful 3080ti will release next year as a stop gap in price. Maybe $1,000 to $1,200.
It should have 12mb to 16mb memory since the 3080 only has 10
