Regardless, the 3080 handily beats the 2080ti in all scenarios and is prices at only 699.
Dont just focus on the 3070.....
2080ti owners are getting screwed hard but this was obvious from long ago.
I knew there was a heavy early adopters fee for RTX and all 2xxx generation buyers paid for it. I knew this was coming so i was quite vocal about selling my 2080tis while they still had value

2080ti crew. Wild stuff but I ain’t mad. Got a buddy who will be building soon on a mid-budget. Would be dope to gift him the 2080ti and pick up a 3080. That’s significantly less money than I was planning on spending. But still want to see the real benchmarks. I don’t know too much about this stuff so I’m not really sure the impact of the less vram etc.
But ray tracing and DLSS are the real deal so probably definitely a crazy good deal for the 3070/3080
To be able to get next gen graphics card and a ps5 this fall for the same price I was expecting to spend on just the graphics card. Das itSCC - Redskins - Wizards

They said 3090 needs a 750watt psu.
If you want to overclock both the gpu and whatever cpu your using plus leave a lot of headroom get a 1000watt gold.
At this point you dont know which version of the 3090 you will get. Maybe you wont get the founders edition which uses the new 12pin but instead a partner card which is trying to compete and uses 3x 8 pin and higher power draw. Dont do the minimum leave a lot of headroom.
Evga has some amazing psus. I like the https://www.evga.com/products/produc...210-GQ-1000-V1
Corsair is also very reputable in the psu marketLast edited by EliteBrah; 09-01-2020 at 10:34 AM.

Okay so apparently that small thing they talked about each shader in Ampere being like 2 Turing shaders is actually a thing.
According to Nvidia, the RTX 3090 has 10,496 CUDA cores, the RTX 3080 has 8,704 CUDA cores, and the RTX 3070 has 5,888 CUDA cores, a straight 2x jump of 5248, 4352 and 2944 respectively.
5248 * 2 FP32 * 1714MHz * 2 =36TFLOPS beefy as heck
The 3080 is the high end card.
3090 is titan replacement not 2080ti replacementLast edited by EliteBrah; 09-01-2020 at 10:41 AM.

Werent people claiming big navi was going to be near a 2080ti which is now what apparently Nvidias lowest card matches? Hard to believe with this large of a jump AMD is going to catch up when their weak lineup before wasnt even close. I hope for the AMD fan boys Im wrong but they seem to dissappoint with every release.

nobody is expecting 2x performance.
Just adding raw info to the thread for ppl to digest. This is a very large generation over generation performance increase
More benches will come. Check out the DF video, the 3080 absolutely crushes the 2080 by 70% or more in non RT games
They dont just make stuff up this is real

Looks like AMD spooked Nvidia.
If the 3070 is REALLY close to a 2080 TI AND priced at $500 it has to be because they were worried about AMD.
With IPC improvements and the face NAVI is scalable I was expecting BIG NAVI to be 130-140% 2080 TI.
MY thought is if you want to sell 3060's and the next gen consoles have the equivalent of a 2080s in them. You need to be able to sell the GPU at $350 or it won't make it.
