I'm kind of pumped to see NVIDIA finally release their 3000 series GPUs tomorrow and get my preorder in. It's been reported that the 3070's performance is on par with the 2080ti with a price tag of $599 so we should be seeing some pretty juicy performance upgrades with the 3080.

My friend's family is keeping a close eye on the situation so they can prevent him from self harming if necessary. I wish it didn't come to this but NVidia is just bullying AMD around and it's mentally devastating AMD fanboys. This is 100% antitrust at this level of performance. The only reason anyone even buys AMD is because of hype from the CPUs. Unfortunately, AMD can't see how their complicit in propping up the stronghold that nvidia has on the market by being so mediocre.

From what I've read, the 3080 might be hitting that 30% mark with the 3090 easily surpassing it. We'll have to wait for the benchmarks, though.
I hope AMD can get their **** together with GPUs so NVIDIA has to lower their prices. They're getting a little outrageous.
Gonna be upgrading from a hybrid cooled 1080ti as well so I'm excited. The reference model looks like a beefy card so it might be a tight squeeze in a micro case haha.

It won't be.
Some of you guys are truly clueless on how Nvidia works their pricing. They will absolutely not release a $600 card that performs as well as their previous gens $1,000+ card. Even if it's capable, they're not going to give it to you for that price. Period. They'll lock the performance in the card BIOS or something before they give you that performance for that price. You're lying to yourself if you don't believe otherwise.
The 3080 will probably be close are maybe slightly more powerful and 3090 will probably be ~20-30% more powerful.
Then they'll probably LOL @ all of you in ~6 months and release Super or Ti versions of them all that are ~5-10% more powerful than the non Super cards.
Just lmao @ not knowing the games Nvidia plays.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 08-31-2020 at 01:55 PM.

Yeaaah I am not so sure about that. I overlook all speculations, specs and even software benchmarks. I focus only on in-game vs in-game results. Huge if actually true but I will wait for in-game results.
Interesting. You are completely retarded when it comes to CPUs but actually know a thing or two about GPUs.

Sure I do. Tired of seeing you morons post these ****ing absolutely retarded and not believable specs and rumors.
If you've followed Nvidia for any amount of time, you know the way they do things generation to generation. Its always the same. No reason to think this will be any different.
Unless they're extremely worried about Big Navi, they're not giving you these massive performance leaps for those prices.
Nvidia is the king of giving us just enough to stay ahead of AMD and nothing more. And they know that's all they have to do to keep charging whatever the fk they want for their cards.

Really..nothing lol.
These cards are for people who either want to do 1440 at 144+ fps or 4k at 60+ without sacrifices to perfomance settings.
My 2080Ti is destroying everything I play at 3440X1440 with zero issues, so I dont have a real reason to upgrade. IF the 3090, or whatever it ends up being called, is at least 30% more powerful I'll probably be tempted to buy just to say I have the best again. If we're only talking 20% I doubt I'll bother.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 08-31-2020 at 06:44 PM.

I'm ready to upgrade from my 1080 and dump it in my second gaming PC (1060 there atm)...
However, not biting on this until I see what Big Navi is gonna do by AMD. As of now i'm 99% going with a 3070 (assuming it does indeed match up with a 2080TI, which i highly doubt) but the prices are still ****ing insane for a medium-range card.
AMD better wake the **** up and compete because Nvidia is milking the crap out of the customers without mercy.Arsenal F.C / San Antonio Spurs

Been nerding out looking up this series for just under a year now lol. Sick of my old build with DDR3, and other parts from ~2010. Gonna pull the trigger once new CPUs come out too.
Excited for:
250GB SATA 3 SSD -> 2TB M.2 nVME (pcie 4.0)
GTX 1070 -> 3080 / 3080 Ti / 3090
16GB DDR3 -> 64GB DDR4
i7-4790k -> Ryzen 4900x/4950x, or I9-11900k
Also looking forward to a mobo with actual Bluetooth.

In for buying overpriced card and playing Mine craft/games from 5 years ago/emulators on it again cos most new games are chit tier. My 2080ti was the biggest buyers remorse ever after going from a 1080ti.
But.. I'm an elitist moron, so I'll prob buy the 3090.... install a new RTX game, "this looks awesome!", play 1 hour, uninstall.... boot up Terraria/Guild Wars 1.

2 years isn't exactly a lot of time either - in fact, that's literally about the bare minimum amount of time it takes to design, validate, manufacture, and debug a new chip. No doubt Nvidia plays pricing games with their cards, but that 30% speedup just isn't there even if they wanted it. Technology just doesn't move that fast. I'm guessing it'll be between a 10 and 20 percent speedup.
