Should i sell my Nintendo Switch? Havent played it in 6 months

Why is it so hard for me to convince my self to sell my Nintendo Switch. I have not played it in 6 months and there are no new games coming out that I am excited about yet i freaking love the system. Problem is I am always in the house (work from home) and especially now with Covid i have no reason to use it as i have my gaming PC near me at all times.

I beat Mario Oddesy great game 10/10

I could not get into Zelda BOTW but i want to try again as everyone keep saying its a great game. Still have the game

Got mario cart and super smash bros very fun games.

Got two sets of joycons


SO i have around $450 sitting in my room collecting dust that i never use yet its so hard for me to get my self to sell the system.

Am i being stupid i feel like system is going to end up depreciating to almost nothing especially when new systems come out and i will end up barely playing it. The obvious thing to do would be to sell it but i love the system for me its better then ps4 and xbox 1 ( i have both of those as well).

there are some solid titles still (supposedly) coming to the system but not a single one with a launch date smh

f.e. Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 were announced 3 years ago but so far nothing concrete has come out about it, how is such a thing even possible

as a collector I'm not considering selling but it looks like it's gonna be collecting dust for quite some time still, hoping for 2021 but this years nothing of worth has come out so far

luckily my Xbone is gonna be dusted off soon: THPS, Crash 4 and Cyberpunk... hngggg

If you are an adult I don't see why you'd want a Nintendo system but I don't get the appeal of Nintendo games as an adult and certainly don't get the appeal of needing to play videogames on the go unless you are a child constantly in the back of mom's minivan. As much as I love videogames if I am in a plane or something I just view that as an opportunity to read a book or listen to something. Videogames are just best experienced with a real controller in the comfort of your home with a big screen.

All my opinions aside, yes you have a price of tech you aren't even using depreciating in value so it makes no sense to continue to hold onto it.

Maybe hack it instead of selling it, there’s a mod chip you can buy to hack patched switch models so you can run emulators on it or make it an android device so you can play your pc games on it with steam link. That’s what I’m planning to do if Nintendo didn’t release any worthwhile games this year.

Prices are up on them because of supply problems and increased demand. Now is a good time to sell it.

They might have a new model next year, nobody knows, theres always rumors of the next model. But one thing is sure is that prices for used ones are high right now, you can sell a used one for the price of a new one because nobody has them in stock, and it isnt going to be like that forever.

I sold off an android tv / nvidia shield from 2015 for the same as what i paid for it new 5 years ago a few months back because prices where up as they were all out of stock.

I'm not attached to consoles so selling them is okay in my book.

I've been in the same boat for a while now, debating on selling my Switch because it barely gets any use...

I sold my AAA titles because I got bored of them, and the only use my Switch gets is when I occasionally fire up an old JRPG or the SNES emulator that's on it.

Crazy thing right now is, he could actually make money if he sold it all now, no doubt about it.

I love my Switch and all it does, but I agree the future this year is looking pretty thin. Even if the rumors are true, not sure about a Mario 64/Galaxy/Sunshine All Star Pack. Galaxy is a GOAT game, but I've played it, so IDK. I've played 64, it would have to be a total overhaul to get me excited, like remade with Odyssey assets. Sunshine is OK. 3D Land I'd probably get b/c I haven't played it if they release that. Seems like they need a brand new game for the holiday, Bayonetta 3 isn't gonna cut it (I'm thinking that may come soon). I don't see MP4 or BOTW 2 this year, so IDK where the heavy hitter for the holiday will come from. Nintendo has a ridiculous amount of great IP just sitting to pick from, could be something from left field.

Edit: If the All Star pack has Galaxy 1 and 2 that would be killer, I'd get that. I don't see how you go for Sunshine and leave out Galaxy 2.

Yup just sold mine on ebay for $425, barely played it in the last year. It included a pro controller and 4 games (including Zelda/Smash)

I think that's about a $110 loss which isn't too bad considering it's 2 years old. Version 1 as well (the one with less battery life). Probably putting it towards a new pistol.

I always set everything on 1 day on Ebay. Its pointless to set it for longer either people dont see it or dont bid

if its an older model you just need a 3 dollar pin off amazon to launch into recovery mode and load custom firmware or emulators. i have ubuntu linux installed on mine right now. srs.

Exact same situation for me.

I played the fuk out of Odyssey and BOTW.
Switch has been a dust collector since.
Nintendo needs to come across with some of their own IPs already like Punch Out and Metroid.

The hype is stupid for this thing although I'd also say the experience of the two games I mentioned was with buying it for them alone.

Get a actual controller for it instead of the joycons. Makes the system so much better.
