Haven't replayed this since finishing the campaign and getting the Unmaykr but I'm definitely going to get this add-on.
The last 2 seconds of the video made my eye start twitching though. Those fukken things.

Had to google what you're talking about, looks like an anti-cheat software. https://www.techspot.com/news/85263-...rnel-mode.html
So not DRM but probably pretty nosy in the kernel. You have the option to disable it. https://www.pcinvasion.com/doom-eter...in-new-update/
Game kicks absolute ass. It and 2016 Doom are two of the best Shooters I've ever played.Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

I'll most likely buy the DLC(or is it free..? Should be imo)
Wasn't all that impressed with eternal, thought it was a huge downgrade from 2016's atmosphere and design, also the shading & texture resolutions were worse overall. Was kind of shocked.*Tolerance is the lube that slides the dildo of dysfunction into the ass of civilized society*

I 100 percent agree. 2016 was all about combat and action non stop action. The new one was way too much platforming and stupid puzzles that did nothing but slow down the gameplay.
I don’t mind puzzles but these were the dumb kind of puzzles where they give no satisfaction once you actually solve it.
Still loved the game just not as much as 2016.
The final boss fight in Eternal was the best boss final boss in any game I ever played imo.
How much is the individual dlc gonna be?Atlanta Falcons!!!

- marine with authority issues gets sent to the lab on Mars
- lab opens a portal to Hell and demons kill marine's pet rabbit
- marine kills demons and stops the invasion but is locked in Hell
- marine kills more demons and in the process is teleported to a world inhabited by super soldiers ruled by angels
- becomes the leader of said soldiers and is granted Captain America upgrade + immortality by a rebel angel
- kills even more demons but gets trapped in a magic tomb
- magic tomb is dug up by another lab on Mars whose crew can venture into Hell
- demons invade another lab, lab's boss wakes up the marine to stop them
- whatever happens between 2016 and Eternal because we don't know that and it will be explained via codex/comics etc
- Eternal

Looks like the new composers for the DLC is Andrew Hulshult and David Levy, which I'm honestly pretty excited to hear. I know they did Mick dirty and I hope they don't do the same to these guys later on down the road with Doom (???), but as a metal head... just hear for yourself:
Andrew Hulshult also did the soundtrack for Dusk, which listening to a just a bit is f*cking killer:
In case you never found out and for anyone else wondering, it's $19.99 for the DLC, which can be purchased standalone (no Doom Eternal required), or it comes in the season pass for $29.99.
I've been holding out for the inevitable complete edition + discount because as much as I loved Doom 2016, I felt similarly because when I was done, it felt like there wasn't a lot there for (close to) full price at the time.
And yeah, the entire look went way too far in the overly-vibrant, sometimes cartoonish direction. It's really crazy when people claim that classic Doom was "always cartoonish," when it was practically the closest they could get to realistic graphics for the time, seeing as they literally scanned real life images of clay sculptures for the game.
Honestly, I really hope there is some way to just tone down all of the bright, glowing noise thrown about everywhere; it looks like a damn rave throughout a lot of gameplay, and I'm not sure that the "render modes" will be enough:
Spoiler!
From everything I've seen and read, that's part of why I'm fine with waiting for the complete package.
Doom 2016 had the perfect amount of platforming if you had to have any for this kind of game, so why in the hell they thought to double down on not only the platforming, but the exposition/cutscenes as well blows my mind because the restraint on those things was part of what made people like Doom 2016.
First thing I'm probably going to do is install a mod to bump up the ammo back to how it was originally teased (early Eternal footage had normal ammo counts versus release), plus something to make melee functional again.
My own gripe is that I'm simply not a fan of "powers" or "abilities" and the cooldown bollocks that seems to plague games these days, and they went overboard on that for my own tastes compared to the relatively simple yet elegant approach 2016 took. Get your MOBA/Overwatch out of my Doom, and we're good.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die
