Just read a yahoo article saying the kid has been arrested for murder. Nowhere did it say that he was brutally attacked with potentially lethal forced, completely unprovoked, and shot as a last ditch effort to save his own life. Instead, they made him seem like an extremist, trump supporter, and completely in the wrong. Those killed were innocent bystanders peacefully protesting if you read the article... quite amazing.

I’ll give you this , he did defend himself and probably would have been killed by a boot to the face or the other guy with the pistol, in the end he survived all though he may have ruined his life.
However all this could have been avoided if he stayed his ass at home just like the dead and wounded would be in much better shape if they stayed their ass at home as well.

While that may be true - doing something that has risks is not illegal. He didn't do anything illegal by being there (that we know of). The question is who instigated what with an active use of illegal force - assault, battery, etc and whether or not his response was legally justified when the shooting started.

1 - What instigated the violence? Kyle or the deceased?
2 - Was there force used against Kyle?
2a - If so, was returning with lethal force legally justified?
3 - At that point, when the crowd began chasing him, were their actions legal or illegal? Did they think he had just unjustifiably murdered someone?
4 - At the point Kyle is attacked by the other individuals, is homicide justifiable?

I think most of these questions go in Kyle's favor, depending on what additional details him and other witnesses can bring.
