    High caloric snacks

I struggle to reach my caloric (2800) and protein requirements (180).
Generally i cant cook throughout the day so am stuck at 3 meals/day.
So i am looking for convenient snacks between meals to make up the difference.

I got recommended nuts, which don't need to be cooked and are calary dense, but i cant stand them.

    Any good alternatives?

the usual ones like oil, honey, oatmeal, ice cream, pizza...

for protein, you could eat protein bars or add some whey to your oatmeal

there are a ton of threads online asking the same thing, i'm 100% positive you'll find something there

Just calories - pretty much anything you like eating including so-called junk food.

Calories and protein: jerky, cheese, hard boiled eggs. Fast food - burgers, tacos etc.
shakes made with ground oatmeal and whey - you can even throw in some olive oil

Protein bars. Personally, I recommend QUEST Bars. They're high in protein and fibre. Best of all, they have clean ingredients and are delicious.

we don’t have that here, but ice cream in Europe is always better. Our dairy products just aren’t on the same level.

    Ice cream shaming, not cool...

    She's right though you know.

On a serious note there are so many ways to fill calories. If you are struggling just aim for low volume, high calorie foods

Somewhat Healthy: nuts, nut butters, seeds (like pumpkin seeds), olive oil, whole milk
Anything goes: chocolate, cream, spreads (like nutella or the lotus spread above), fast food of any description, pastries, dessets, cookie dough, high calorie drinks, ice cream etc

EDIT: lol at 'clean' bars, good to know they get out the detergent and sponges before they package them. Wouldn't want dirty food

Yeah, really I don't understand either. Unless someone has had some kind of trauma or is struggling against an eating disorder, I can't believe it would be hard to get a few hundred calories above maintenance.

I agree, but 925 calories difference is pretty damn big....

Feeling hungry on 2075 calories is much more normal than struggling to eat 3000 calories if those diets contains mostly whole foods.

I could easily make 3000 calories feel insanely hard by most people's standards if I tried.

Yup. 3000 calories of kale and whites =o)

But for real... 3000 calories can be an insane amount of food if you know how to prepare it.

Or, I could eat 2.5 bags of granola in about 20minutes for the same 3k.

Sauce or no sauce (which I will include next time, don't worry), that was surprisingly filling. I had just gotten back hungry from a heavy back workout and that was easily 50g protein and couldn't have been more than four or five hundred calories even with the butter. Didn't think about food for the rest of the night.

To the point of this thread's topic, I could have alternatively eaten like two spoons of peanut butter for all of those calories and not even a third of the protein.

The Greg Douchette freench toast option is also VERY good...

I tried it using 4 slices of sprouted sourdough, a cup of egg whites, cinnamon, topped with this almond whipped cream and monk fruit maple syrup....

It's a huge, huge portion with zero fat, 60g carbs, and 50g protein... about 450calories for that part.

Now of course, for me, I also added berries, some peanut butter, and then had it with a side salad.... but it was really really filling and easy to make.

Also, spaghetti squash is awesome for volume. My stomach cannot handle much of it tho.

I'll order a box. Cookies & cream actually tends to be my go-to with protein bars.

Same. I particularly recommend the Vanilla Caramel Churro & Apple Pie bars heated up just a couple seconds in the microwave...HNNNNNG!

For similar, bigger "meal replacement" bars I'm also a big fan of Fit Crunch (PB & J is the GOAT) & Sinfit (cinnamon all the way!).

I don't know If I could hit 500 calories of egg whites and kale without being in utter agony, but I've legitimately done the latter more than a handful of times, no pun intended. Why? Granola is fuking delicious.
