Hi guys,
Im 18 years old 5'8. I have recently gained a lot of weight. I run distance and will be running at the collegiate level. I know this is a bodybuilding website, sorry if I'm in the wrong place. I weighed around 132 pounds in the morning before summer, I was consuming 1500-1600 calories a day and running 50-60 miles a week and cycling around 4-5 hours a week. I now weigh around 145 pounds and train the same amount of hours and mileage. my caloric intake has stayed the same and I sometimes eat less around 1300-1400 calories as I want to be lighter. could someone please tell me why this has happened.
Thanks

Why do you want to be lighter? 132lb at 5-8" is quite light... even 145lb is pretty normal/average.
It sounds like you've been massively undereating... your activity level is very high and you're trying to eat barely anything at all... this is not a good path to better performance.Last edited by AdamWW; 08-22-2020 at 01:43 PM.

You may need to revisit your goals before worrying about how to achieve it. As others have said, you shouldn’t really be aiming to lose anymore weight.
You could increase your fitness, performance, and even lower your BF% by gaining a bit of muscle while still incorporating the cardio you love to do, which seems to be your priority. Even just a 2 day a week commitment would do wonders. Either way, you’re going to have to start eating more.Life is constant learning. Give advice about things you know. Ask questions about things you don't.

I would factor it like this:
Let’s assume calories as sedentary: ~2000
If you average running it’s about 7.5-8mi a day, which if we lowball at 100cals per mile would result in +750 calories every day.
That gets us to at least 2750 calories to maintain.
I don’t know the intensity of the cycling, but if we assume moderate intensity averaging at 4.5hours a week or 40min a day, that’s another 350-400 calories daily....
That would bring you to at least 3100 calories just to maintain weight...
OP has been eating less than half that.
How? I have no idea"When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"
