people being stuck at home for months means a big boom in sales for tech chit like that .
Mics, headsets, cameras, game controllers etc etc.
You can generally find them on places like Amazon and Ebay as the companies buy their own stock and sell them 3rd party for a huge markup.

Chit that was like 200$ before covid is like 400$ now.

Feels like big box stores have been horrible in keeping things in stock since covid hit. I went to Best Buy, Bed Bath Beyond, Guitar Center, looking for basic office set up things and computer items for a little studio and literally struck out on almost every single thing. Best Buy had a monitor that I bought. Didn't have external drives, decent keyboards, mouse, docking stations.. etc

Walked past the Xbox section in a couple Targets this week and noticed they were barren.

I'm guessing when Covid hit, the big box stores said **** it and cut all their POs in half for a lot of chit for the rest of 2020, and Amazon doubled down. I've bought more from them in the last 6 months then my entire life srs. I sound like a shill.

More comfortable maybe but the manufacturing has been absolutely crap . Constant problems with stick drift, dodgy RB/LB buttons. Even the elite 2 has constant stick drift problems. Ive fixed my own because i work electronics but even so after replacing the joystick component i still had problems. My Elite 2 was £160 and in my opinion a waste of money. Actually i heard there's a lawsuit on Microsoft because the build quality is THAT bad and customers have had enough.

suppliers are shut down in china, they probably source from like a dozen different suppliers or more, imagine if they are just out of start buttons or the microcontroller inside the unit or the rumble motor, that means whole controller is on halt. a lot of plants were shut down for a while

they had shortages on everything from bicycles to nintendo switches, if its something that demand went up while production went down or halted... boom shortage

Still have an old wired 360 controller that works from years ago, and my Xbox 1 controller has held up well for the last 2 or so years. Guess it's hit or miss, but they do seem to be prone to issues for many.
